Role Profile

The role

This role, based in Guernsey, supports all Investec Bank (Channel Islands) marketing efforts across our offices in Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man. Working closely with the London-based IBCI marketing manager, the aim is to enhance our marketing output and deliver our brand in the Channel Islands. This generalist marketing role involves implementing and executing the marketing plan, delivery of local client events, focusing on awareness, client acquisition, retention, and cross-selling for IBCI's client-facing teams:

  • Financial Intermediaries, principally Trust Companies & Corporate Service Providers
  • Private Clients & Corporates/Family Offices

The role requires regular travel between Guernsey, Jersey, and, to a less frequent extent, the Isle of Man and London, and involves collaboration with the UK Private Banking divisional marketing team and London-based functional marketing teams, including Events, Brand, Internal Communications, Client Marketing & Integrated Planning, Digital, Content, and Public Relations.

An important aspect of the role will be as a locally-based extension of the central (UK-based) marketing team, and therefore the only marketing resource based locally. This will require good communication and stakeholder management skills.

As an enthusiastic marketer, perhaps at the beginning of your career, you will have excellent organisational skills with a can-do attitude and proactive approach to supporting the marketing function.

You'll be a process-oriented individual who loves bringing shape and rigour to a vision and ensures work gets done, with excellent stakeholder management skills. You'll be highly reliable and able to perform under pressure – and it's essential you have the ability to learn fast and pick up new processes quickly.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Delivering all IBCI marketing communications and campaigns
  • Event support, management, budgeting and communication, in collaboration with the central Events team
  • Maintaining local sponsorship relationships and activations
  • Internal communications
  • Supporting with internal events
  • Maintaining and activating the bank's social media channels
  • Helping to plan, schedule and project manage the collateral aspects of marketing activity
  • Where appropriate writing copy for marketing collateral, including brochures, social posts, emails and websites.
  • Organising and communicating across different teams and agencies to ensure deadlines are met
  • Acting as a brand, tone of voice and corporate identity guardian to ensure a consistent look and feel
  • Acting as a compliance guardian
  • General marketing support

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in a marketing role, preferably in a financial or regulated industry
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and social media platforms
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on high-quality work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in marketing
