Role: Portfolio Manager, Charities

Team Description

The Charities team consists of five Senior Investment Managers, one Trainee Investment Manager, and an admin support team of three. The team specifically look after charity and not for profit clients across the UK with over £1.8bn of AUM and the opportunity exists to join the team as it enters an exciting growth phase.

The team are looking to add a discretionary fund manager who will have the responsibility for setting up a discretionary desk to support the Charities business and will be responsible for execution of the investment process on behalf of charity clients.

This is an exciting opportunity to support a growing team of five investment managers who are all dedicated to running charity money with many years of experience in the sector. The team have a passion for ESG investment and focus on working with charities to help them invest responsibly in a way that is aligned with their investment goals.

We are looking for a qualified Investment Manager who holds the RDR compliant qualifications, CISI IAD level 4 and the CISI Masters in Wealth Management level 7 or equivalent.

Principal Role

  • To provide high quality, professional fund management services to charities and advice to investment managers
  • Liaise closely with the team's investment managers and other fund managers across the business.
  • Monitor performance of investment against objectives
  • Integrate ESG solutions across client portfolios
  • Risk management across client portfolios.
  • Chair the team's investment meetings and investment decision making process.
  • Contribute ideas to the development of the team's investment strategy
  • Assess relationship between clients' aims and financial markets
  • Construct bespoke portfolios, which encompass different asset class ranges and demonstrate an awareness of composition of relevant benchmarks
  • Assess individual assets within their sector
  • Keep abreast of market trends, implementing timely and appropriate changes to investment portfolios
  • Manage all assets on an ongoing basis
  • Maintain records of investment activities and market performance
  • Process deals
  • Ensure TCF is implemented throughout the department
  • Extensive contact with IW&I analysts

Qualifications Required

  • CISI IAD level 4 and the CISI Masters in Wealth Management level 7 or equivalent.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly excel
  • Experience of managing charities NOT required
