Description of role and key responsibilities
Objective of Role:The primary responsibility of this role is to administer the day to day operational functions throughout the complete Trade Life-cycle from Trade Capture to Trade Settlement for Bonds traded and issued by Investec Bank PLCKey Responsibilities:-
Trade booking, confirmation and settlement
• Ensure that all trades executed are entered completely and accurately into Risk Management systems• Liaison with trade counterparties to agree trade details and ensure instructions are matched in the market• Matching of trades in International Central Securities Depository (ICSD e.g. Euroclear/Crest/Austraclear)• Management of Bilateral and Tri-party repo/reverse repo trades including Collateral switches• Management of Securities Lending trades.• Management of Credit Line at Euroclear/Crest• Responsible for the set up and the static data maintenance of Bonds and Issuers in the relevant systems (Chi/Calypso) – all bond types, including ABS• Booking and Settlement of New Issuance trade for our India Office• Management of trade confirmation/settlement of bond trades executed by our Credit Trading desk• Fail Management and monitoring of alleged trades • Escalation of all unsettled and unmatched trades to management – daily fail reporting• Management of S-Note trades in terms of settlement and corporate actions. • S-Note issuance tear ups with IPA's
Post-SettlementProcessing of Corporate Actions events for Bank and Client positions such as Coupon and Maturity payments Bond Interest CapitalisationInput collateral moves into Euroclear/Crest for settlement
RegulatoryMaintenance of Asset Register. Assets to be correctly reflected in the Register detailing any encumbrance.
ReconciliationsResponsible for reconciling daily Cash, Stock position and inter-system breaks and ensuring all breaks are resolved in a timely mannerResponsible for creating escalation reports to management on all breaks with relevant auditable commentary
Ad hoc Responsibilities• Regular liaison with the Front Office teams so team are aware of new business developments / requirements • Regular liaison with Product and Financial Control for resolution of Bond set up/Corporate Action issues.• Ability to analyse requirements and adapt processes accordingly• Monthly production of CMAR return for Custody positions held.• Coverage of annual or in-frequent tasks by following documented procedures or previous email communication for guidance.• Investigate any new market developments and/or regulations and assess the affect they have on our current model and suggest change where necessary• Regular review and update of procedures completed to reflect changes in internal processes and market regulations

Technical Knowledge: • Knowledge of standard processes for Securities Issuance and Settlement• Knowledge of market practice for Securities and Repo markets• Strong understanding of bond flow for all Bond types and how it relates to settlement• Understanding of trade booking standards and trade lifecycles for products supported• Experience on Corporate Action events e.g. coupon payments etc• Understanding of CASS rules and reporting
Product Knowledge:• Fixed Income Cash Securities – Corporates, MBS, ABS, CLOS, Covered Funds• Finance Products – Repurchase (Repo/Reverse Repo), Securities Lending and Tri-Party agreements
Exception resolution: • Ability to investigate bond set up issues, cash and holdings breaks
Relationship Management and communication: • Ability to create and maintain strong relationships and channels of communication with business supported • Ability to answer queries Securities related matters by key interfaces
Risk Management • Ability to assess, analyse and mitigate risk in day to day process and any new process that are implemented
