Relationship Manager (3369)
To source and originate investment-orientated mandates from the target Trust and Corporate sector in Guernsey, in accordance with a pre-agreed business development plan. Thereafter, to act as a specialist investment advisor, manage the clients and their needs in line with business stated philosophy.
To promote our full suite of professional investment management services.
To support, influence and promote company/group objectives particularly in conjunction with the IBCI Trust & Corporate Client Services Team
Allowable Investment Activities: Investment Adviser Function – advising on investments other than a non-investment insurance contract and performing the appropriate duties within the customer trading function.
To establish a strategy business plan and tactical business building programme to develop new business opportunities within the Guernsey Trust and Corporate Sector and contribute towards overall business strategy, development and achievement of business targets.
To actively engage with local trust companies through meetings, presentations and ad hoc events and thus identify prospective target clients. To build strong relationships with local firms and understand their investment requirements. Partnering with IBCI as part of the process is desirable.
Maintain relationship with existing clients.
Maintain extensive knowledge of investment products, professional expertise and regulatory requirements.
Provide effective investment strategies for clients by reviewing, reporting on and monitoring market/portfolio performance.
Establish and maintain appropriate processes to ensure the highest levels of tailored client communications, high quality investment portfolio information and transparent performance communication applicable to their unique market requirements.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements/ procedures at all times.
Work closely with other Investment Director(s) and Office Head to contribute towards the development of business strategy/policy/plans.
Collaborate with colleagues in other Investec Wealth & Investment geographies.
Provide front office support to other Investment Director(s) and Office Head as required.
To share client relationships with other members of the Investec Group to maximise relevancy to clients and to entrench Investec within the client relationship under the “One Investec” policy
Achieve agreed financial Revenue and Assets targets as well as other KPI's. This includes maintaining of pipeline and deal tracking records.
Monitor administration (i.e. valuations, income payments etc.)
Be prepared to undertake business travel to visit clients and develop business within prescribed policy guidelines and relevant regulatory frameworks.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong business development/marketing/networking skills.
Strong client relationship skills.
Knowledge of the local market place.
Up-to-date knowledge of financial markets, asset classes and product types and the ability to apply this knowledge in developing and presenting appropriate solutions to clients.
Be able to identify any relevant material business risks. Understanding and implementation of Investec Wealth & Investment business procedures e.g. internal reporting line and issue escalation.
Active participation at Sales & Marketing Committee
Thorough knowledge of internal operating and compliance procedures at all times e.g. money laundering regulations.
One of the following qualifications is essential: FCA RDR Compliant Qualification/s e.g. CISI IAD or IMC (plus Securities Paper of Level 6) / (Level 4), or CISI PCIAM (Level 6), or CISI Diploma (Level 6/7), or CISI Masters (Level 7)
