Accountant
Location: Guildford
Description of role and key responsibilities
As an Accountant at Investec Capital Solutions you will be involved in various aspects of management and financial accounting tasks.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Liaising with Operation Team to ensure effective and timely reconciliations of Invoice Discounting Receivables books and Loans book movement.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Balance sheet reconciliations with appropriate commentary and production of relevant schedules.
- Business Partnering with Operations, Sales, ICS Management and other teams within the company.
- Preparation of the various reports and analysis that the business require each month and addressing any follow up queries.
- Production of quarterly VAT returns and related reporting.
- Preparation of information for the external financial audit.
- Involvement in production of statutory accounts.
- Assisting with the preparation of external reporting to the British Business Bank.
- Assistance with preparation of a budget on an annual basis reflecting the expected growth in income and costs for the next financial year, liaising with the business as necessary to confirm any changes.
- Assisting in various projects that the ICS Finance department undertakes as and when required.
- Other ad-hoc tasks, as requested.
Core skills and knowledge
- CIMA or ACCA part qualified
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and take ownership of tasks.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel.
- Team player with a can-do attitude and who always acts with integrity
Other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role
- Understanding of Invoice Finance and Asset Based Lending helpful.
- Knowledge of HPD systems (Aquarius/AURA), JD Edwards/Hyperion/Essbase would be advantageous but not essential.
