Agile Delivery Manager (4773)

Role Description

Investec Wealth & Investment is looking for a Delivery Manager who will work to build agile and lean practices across the organisation, ensure scrum team health & happiness and delivery support. 

The role is based in the Technology Solutions Department within the Client Servicing Portfolio, which is responsible for the delivery of change for the Operations function.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery Manager for multiple scrum teams – coaching the teams in self-management, cross functionality, continuous improvement.
  • Coach the Teams, Product Owners and the wider organisation in value delivery – backlog creation, management and prioritisation – helping to ensure the vision is delivered
  • Help the teams choose the appropriate agile practices, tools and techniques to deliver value
  • Help the teams continuously improve and adopt an empirical approach - coach the team in how to measure and track their delivery in order to identify areas for improvement  
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies where appropriate
  • Supporting the product owner with stakeholder relationships
  • Undertake financial tracking and hiring
  • Perform the role of servant leader including coaching individuals and the team
  • Challenge existing processes and work with people outside the team to update them if they are slowing the team down or not adding the most value for everyone
  • Ensure alignment and communication, as appropriate, across the team
  • Strengthen the presence of our team as an Agile centre of excellence. Actively contribute to the company's Agile and Lean Community. Keep the rest of the company network aware of our activities.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Experience of initiating a project, building a team, going through discovery and getting a service live.
  • At least 5+ years' experience working as a delivery manager in an agile environment, preferably in a variety of situations
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence, Kanban and Scrum
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Excellent communication skills in English in written and spoken form
  • Experience of planning agile developments in a form that can be reliably communicated to the wider business, allowing the business to schedule sales, marketing and customer activity with a degree of confidence
  • Good knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Understands iterative and incremental development

Desirable

  • Certified delivery manager/scrum master practitioner
  • Financial Services, Wealth or Investment industry experience
  • Financial Operations team experience
  • Worked in an environment that has moved from Waterfall to Agile
  • Experience working with full-stack teams
