The Technical Application Support Engineer will be responsible to support and evolve its core banking applications, integration platforms, and management information systems within Microsoft Azure and on-premise environments. You will be part of the Channel Islands IT team and the wider Investec technology community, working closely with Business Change, development teams, and Group IT. The role combines application support, Azure environment administration, CI/CD pipeline management, and operational troubleshooting, with a strong focus on enabling reliable change delivery and system stability. The primary objective of the role is to support, automate, and continuously improve the Bank's application platforms and infrastructure by applying DevOps principles across development, test, production, and disaster recovery environments. |

Key responsibilities: The focus is to provide support, maintenance and assist in enabling change within the Banks core banking applications by: · Provide end-to-end operational support for banking and enabling applications, including underlying infrastructure and platform services, across Development, Test, Production, and DR environments. · Administer and support Microsoft Azure environments, including resource monitoring, access control, logging, and environment configuration. · Build, maintain, and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Pipelines, enabling automated deployments, controlled releases, and rollback strategies. · Perform release and deployment management, including promotion of application changes and third-party products across environments, ensuring stability and performance. · Proactively monitor application and infrastructure health using Azure Log Analytics and APM tools, responding to alerts and performance degradation. · Carry out incident, problem, and event management, including hands-on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and permanent fix implementation.

Core Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong experience supporting and administering: Windows Server 2016 and later IIS-hosted applications.
- Experience of 8-10 yrs in Application Support / devops Engnineer.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure including: Azure Devops (Boards, Repos, Pipelines), Azure Log Analytics and monitoring, environment administration and operational support.
- Hands on experience with CI/CD pipelines, release automation and deployment troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Management Information and data platforms including: Microsoft SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and Power BI.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across application, infrastructure, and integration layers.
- Experience working in financial services or regulated environments.
- Knowledge of of ITIL service management practices.
- Experience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools, such as manage Engine Application Performance Monitoring(APM) tools, such as manage Engine Applications Manager, Logic Monitor and Pager Duty.
- Exposure to: Microsoft BizTalk, Microsoft sharepoint, Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI
- Ability to manage mutiptle priorities and operate effectively in a production-focused, change-driven environment.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for automation, reliability, and continuous improvement.
