Team description    

AFG Finance is a small, fast paced operational finance team, dealing with everything from accounts payable and receivable right through to statutory accounts, you will be assisting the Management Accountants across the Asset Finance Group, assisting with month end procedures and providing additional support where required. This role has scope to develop in line with business needs.
Description of role and key responsibilities    The team is looking for someone diligent, motivated and reliable with relevant experience to join the team. 

Your key responsibilities will involve:
1.    Assisting the management accountants with month end tasks and balance sheet reconciliations
2.    Preparing prepayment and accrual postings
3.    Maintain intercompany funding postings
4.    Maintaining the fixed asset register
5.    SPV cash collection reporting
6.    Quarterly VAT returns and other ad-hoc reporting
7.    Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts
8.    Other ad-hoc tasks supporting both the management accountants and operations team where requested

Core skills and knowledge    

•    Qualifications: CIMA or ACCA – part or newly qualified
•    Market Knowledge:  Awareness of the financial market landscape, competitors and market drivers.
•    IT Skills: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office  
•    Investec Specific Knowledge: Knowledge of Investec procedures and compliance protocols. 
•    Ability to work quickly and accurately
•    Good problem-solving and analytical skills
•    Good inter-personal and communication skills
•    Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced finance team
•    Ability to work well under pressure

Any other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role.    

Experience using JD Essbase.
Awareness of asset finance and financial services.
