Description of role and key responsibilities:
The Power and Infrastructure (PIF) team is responsible for executing Investec's strategy for PIF clients in the UK and Europe. PIF provides innovative funding solutions in the Debt Financing and Advisory (both M&A and Debt) space. This role is integral to the team's success and offers exciting opportunities for individual development in a sector which is central to delivering Investec's Sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities are:  
•    Support the credit approval process and related activities, including:
a)    To write/draft credit papers
b)    Build and analyse financial models for mandated deals
c)    Run sensitivity analysis on cash flows
d)    Submit credit papers and coordinate credit committees with the credit department
e)    Analyse deal economics and prepare return calculations
•    Assist senior members of the team in marketing and origination efforts through the provision of deal structuring solutions, client/advisor engagement and the creation/drafting of pitch books and preparing deal screening memos for discussion with senior team members, credit and global heads
•    Prepare Information Memoranda & Financial Model to support Syndication or Advisory activities
•    Work with internal legal to draft and review mandate letters/term sheets
•    Assist in deal execution activities including working with external advisers (such as technical-, market-, insurance-, model audit advisers) and internal/external legal counsel on deal documentation. 
•    Manage a portfolio of assets in conjunction with the senior team member responsible for the PIF UK portfolio. Key activities include: 
a)    Manage ongoing relationship with Borrowers and internal and external stakeholders.
b)    Ongoing review of financial/other information to ensure that cashflow is being received in line with financial close expectations. 
c)    Prepare annual reviews, amendments and waiver requests for portfolio assets. 

Core skills and knowledge
•    Strong financial analysis, valuation and modelling techniques
•    To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly
•    Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role
•    Relevant market, sector or necessary technical knowledge for the Power and Infrastructure sector
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills
•    Self-motivated, team player with a collaborative approach
•    Creative problem-solving in providing flexible and innovative financing structures
•    IT Skills, including Office proficiency; specifically strong modelling skills
•    Power and Infrastructure Sector, Market and Product Knowledge

Any other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role:
Min 2-3 years transaction experience (ideally from a debt financing angle) in the Power and Infrastructure sector
