Description of Role:
- Collaboratively work with the UK PLC advisory team to provide support concerning all aspects of general corporate broking matters and a range of activities and transaction including raising of finance, mergers & acquisitions, and restructuring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day to day contact with the UK team and corporate clients, advising on share price movements, market trends and producing market reports on share trading, sector movements and reviewing investor feedback;
- Responsible for review of day to day announcements for allocated clients and have awareness of regulatory rules
- Assist in maintaining and further developing relationships with existing clients
- Involved in drafting and reviewing marketing materials and other documentation including pitches, management presentations, valuation papers and regulatory documentation to specified deadlines;
- Prepare client proposals / pitches
- Assist the client team in the successful execution of transactions (capital raisings, M&A etc) for clients and potential clients (including the preparation and review transaction documentation)
- Assist in the review of client communication with the market
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and regulators as required.
- Provide clients with advice on market and regulatory issues as required
- Assist client teams in providing advice to corporate clients on their relationships with investors and the market place
- Assist client teams and engage directly with the communication to institutional investors regarding corporate clients (both in corporate broking ordinary course and in transactions)
- Learn how to develop, market and sell new business ideas to clients
- Learn how to identify, target and win new clients
- Maintain up to date sector knowledge, market / industry practice and commercial awareness
- Understand Investec's broader capabilities
- Ensure communications with clients / intermediaries / business contacts are appropriately captured in the CRM
- Assist the PLC Advisory team in the timely maintenance of certain administrative responsibilities (such as standard pitch materials, transaction fee benchmarking, team agendas).
Core skills and knowledge:
- Detailed, up to date and practical working knowledge of all applicable rules and regulations (such as FCA, AIM, City Code on Takeovers)
- Acting with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our clients and potential clients fairly
- Hold relevant market, sector and technical knowledge
- Strong understanding and preparation of financial analysis, valuation and modelling techniques
- Excellent knowledge of powerpoint, excel and presentation solutions
- Effective internal / external client interaction (including with other advisors) for business generation and execution.
As part of our collaborative & agile culture, our working week is 4 days in the office and one day remote.
