Description of role and key responsibilities:

Reporting to the Service Lead for Meeting & Collaboration, the Audio Visual / Video Conferencing Specialist Lead is seen as a technical expert in the AV VC field and knowledgeable in the broader Network & Communications space.

This is a highly technical hands on and team lead role, with a focus on delivering and supporting high quality AV VC services. The role requires the ability to design solutions, implement complex changes, and troubleshoot complex operational issues. As well as deliver first class support to colleagues and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities:

The AV VC Specialist Lead primary areas of responsibility is ensuring that service impacting issues are resolved in a timely fashion, requests from the business are actioned according within the service management processes. While also ensuring that there are defined standards in place, the technical lifecycle of products & services is managed and deliver change/transformation against created designs; always ensuring a smooth transition/handover into Operations is completed.

Services you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting include, but are not limited to: Video Conferencing, Microsoft Teams, Webex, IP TV.

  • Perform operational support for Investec businesses inside and outside of core hours as part of a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Manage vendors to resolve AV VC related issues.
  • Event Management and coordination.
  • Identify innovative technologies to improve existing services & infrastructure.
  • Contribute to and assist with the documentation of all AV VC standards.
  • Responsible for the creation of Low-Level Design documents to meet requirements outlined in the High-Level Design.
  • Responsible for ensuring the smooth transition of services to the live environment, ensuring that supporting teams and colleagues are trained.
  • Assist with the creation and upkeep of a Delivery Roadmap for meeting & collaboration services
  • Ensuring skillsets are relevant and up to date in order to deliver change and provide a high level of support.
  • Providing escalation support to colleagues with complex troubleshooting of issues as required.
  • Cost management and vendor sourcing of equipment

Core skills and knowledge:

  • Excellent hands-on experience of AV, VC, and audio installations within a global enterprise scale organization (5000-50,000 users), supporting, designing, and delivering a broad-spectrum of solutions.
  • You will have considerable first-hand experience of supporting, design engineering and building sustainable solutions that scale.
  • Present suitable solutions to meet the business requirements in accordance with Investec Standards and obtain quotations and manage technology suppliers and partners
  • You will be familiar with a variety of testing tools, voice & networking technologies, and techniques to accurately troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems associated with the service, application and network hardware and software.
  • Deliver change to the infrastructure and network environment with minimal downtime whilst following a strict change control process.
  • Tracking incidents / requests / change using ITSM systems and making sure tickets are kept up to date and clients are updated on a regular basis through to completion and closure.

You will have strong knowledge and experience of supporting, deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting in several areas, including but not limited to:

  • Exterity IP TV
  • Microsoft Teams / Rooms
  • Windows OS
  • Zoom, BlueJeans, LoopUp
  • Broadcast Camera Production integration and Webcasting
