Role Profile:

The role:

We are looking to recruit an organised and experienced individual to join our Guernsey based operational banking team. The role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual to support the day-to-day operations of the bank, supporting the efficient processing of transactions, maintaining accurate records and providing exceptional service to our clients and internal stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be inquisitive, innovative, and keen to learn new skills to expand their existing knowledge base in order to deliver an exceptional client experience in both general Banking and execution only Custody services.

They will also have the ability to challenge processes and procedures then suggest and help implement improvements, whilst maintaining controls.

How to be successful in this role:

As an enthusiastic banking operations professional in the financial services industry, you will have excellent organisational skills with a can-do attitude and proactive approach to supporting the bank's existing banking and treasury operations, helping to ensure a high level of client satisfaction for our clients.

You'll be a process-oriented individual who works to safeguard the bank, it's reputation, assets and interests of our stakeholders by identifying and managing potential threats or risks to our ongoing operation, or raising concerns.

You'll be bringing a good understanding of payment, foreign exchange, and fixed deposit processes, together with the surrounding regulatory environment and compliance landscape. You'll be highly reliable and able to perform under pressure – and it's essential you have the ability to learn fast and pick up new processes quickly.

Core responsibilities include:

Day to day support of the Bank's banking and treasury operations, including: -

  • Process and manage daily banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and transfers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and update client records in the banking system, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with various departments to resolve operational issues and improve service delivery.
  • Provide support to clients by addressing inquiries and resolving issues raised through the client servicing teams, in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and manage operational risks, reporting any discrepancies or concerns to the Operations Manager.
  • Assist in the implementation of new processes and systems to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Stay updated on banking regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices.

Knowledge:

  •  Previous experience in a banking & financial services environment with an understanding of banking operations & regulatory requirements, along with some understanding of payment systems including SWIFT.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and banking software applications.
