Business Analyst (4176)

Are you an experienced Business Analyst looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience of running both IT and non-IT related projects?

An exciting opportunity has arisen and we are currently looking for a Business Analyst to join our Transformation team.

The Transformation team delivers change initiatives within Investec Bank focusing on operational efficiency and process improvement. As a Business Analyst you will focus on delivering and managing change from inception, understanding of opportunity/ problem statement, through to implementation of the agreed solution.

While the role is focused on the BA skill set, you would need to apply project management skills necessary to manage initiatives through to completion, including project planning, status reporting, stakeholder management, risk management and communication.

What are the Key Responsibilities of the role? 

  • Facilitating workshops and small working group meetings.
  • BPMN process mapping
  • Process design, analysis, re-engineering and documenting
  • Requirements gathering – using traditional or Agile approaches
  • Writing of functional specification
  • Gap analysis
  • User Acceptance Testing limited to input and general guidance for test scripting and execution
  • Writing of user guides/ training material
  • Delivery of end use training

What are the core skills and knowledge for the role?

  • Awareness of business analysis methodologies, business analysis and problem solving
  • Understanding, documentation and implementation of business processes
  • Awareness of business organisational structure and impact of change
  • Experience of working on multiple projects running concurrently and managing conflicting priorities.
  • Target Operating Model experience
  • User acceptance testing, based on requirements gathering
  • End user system/ process training
  • Facilitation skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to build strong relationships across business teams and geographies

What other attributes would be helpful, but are not essential for the role?

  • Project management accreditation preferred but not essential
  • Use of process mapping tools such as Visio, Lucid chart or similar
  • Use of a project management tool, MS Project, FLUID etc
  • Advanced use of Excel including ability to use formulas and pivot tables
