Business Development Director – Birmingham – Permanent 

You will be joining a national Business Development team wholly focussed on supporting the UK Advisor Market and increasing inflows to our Bespoke DFM Service, Our MPS on Platforms Service and our Specialist AIM IHT Portfolio Service.

 

What will I be doing?

  • Identify new sources of acceptable Intermediary Services business and develop the relationships with the new advisers to establish a regular flow of new discretionary investment management business.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance market share from existing business sources through the promotion of IW&I services to the professional intermediary market.
  • Maintain relationships with existing advisers to ensure retention of current book of clients and to secure new client introductions.
  • Work closely with Investment Managers to ensure strong relationships are developed with external advisers in order to optimize potential opportunity.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements or procedures.
  • Develop detailed knowledge of the services available to Intermediary Services clients including the eligibility criteria, rate cards, documentation required, together with marketing materials available.
  • Implement a robust contact strategy for all introducers to ensure regular structured contact with agreed actions and meaningful outcomes, including F2F meetings with Financial Advisers and Intermediaries.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the adviser's business model, identify and then deliver any appropriate support.
  • Develop a consistent flow of quality new business introductions that meet the firms published criteria from UK Financial Advisers (and where appropriate Overseas Advisers).


What are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills both verbally and written. They will be coherent, grammatically correct, effective and professional. Candidates will need the ability to propose solutions to problems, consider timelines, effectiveness and practicality always. A Previous sales background is essential, with an established and provable record of performance. You may have a relevant professional qualification as appropriate, though this is not a requirement.
