Business Manager for TRS and Global Markets (12227)

Description of role and key responsibilities
The Business Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the strategic and operational functions of the Global Markets and TRS businesses.
The role involves collaborating with a wide range of departments across the bank including front-office, Risk, Operations and Technology to ensure the effective execution of business initiatives, management of operational risk and process improvements, and enhancing overall performance.
The Business Manager will also act as a liaison between senior management and operational teams, driving alignment towards our overall objectives.
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
Change Management
• Lead BAU small change initiatives to improve the business operating model.
• Support wider strategic projects within the business and projects run by the central Change function.
• Manage stakeholder engagement for new products & initiatives and drive the timely delivery and speed to market.
• Work with key stakeholders to identify and influence prioritisation of change for our clients and business.
Business Operations
• Operational Support: Oversee day to day operations within the business, identifying areas for improvement and implementing efficient processes.
• Ownership of business operating model, including progressing bank wide platforms to support our clients and the business (e.g. CRM)
• Analysis and review of costs across Operations, Tech and other support functions driving efficiencies where possible.
• Support headcount planning, cost control, and performance tracking.
• BAU responsibility for interactions with business tech/vendor systems (Hera/Athena/iX/trading platforms) including any disruption or issues with services.
Risk Management
• Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key controls & performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of the business operating model, preparing regular reports for management.
• Work with wider stakeholders to thoroughly investigate operational risks, taking ownership of establishing root cause and propose / implement improvements.
• Represent the business functions at Risk & Governance forums and communicate results back to the business as required
• Manage Business Continuity plan and Operational Resilience for both Global Markets and TRS.
• Work with compliance to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies across all trading activities.
• Providing input into Audits, Monitoring & Testing Reviews, Risk Control Self Assessments, Stress Testing planning exercises, Unauthorized Trading Reviews, Conflicts of Interest.
Management Information
• Work with business and data analytics to develop and provide appropriate operating model management information where required.
• Provide analysis of MI to help track performance against operating model targets.
• Responsibility to identify potential risks and lead improvement delivery.
Core skills and knowledge
• Experience in a business management or similar role within the banking or financial services sector.
• Technical, Market and Product Knowledge: Sound awareness of market landscape and knowledge of how the business functions.
• Relationship Management and Communication: Ability to create and maintain strong relationships and channels of communication with key interfaces.
• Risk Understanding: Ability to assess, analyse and mitigate.
• A proactive and results-oriented mindset
• Self-starter, energetic and enthusiastic.
• Attention to detail
• A curiosity for new approaches. Willingness to do things differently
• Cast iron integrity
• Ability to multi-task, often to deadlines.
• Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role (compulsory).

Any other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role.
• Knowledge and experience of Investec systems
