The Central Payments Operations (CPO) team are designed to focus on specialist functions relating to payments. The team support core functions of CPO, of which 1 is a critical regulatory function, namely Funds Transfer Regulation (FTR) Monitoring. CPO work very closely with our ‘One Payment Platform' product team to optimise payment processes relating to our internally built payment proposition. Change management is a key part of what CPO do and managing internal and external relationships is essential.
The scope of the role is wide and requires the Central Payment Analyst to have a working knowledge across a wide range of products.
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
- Monthly FTR Monitoring and Compliancy
- One Payment Platform – Process Operationalisation
- Beneficiary SSI (Standard Settlement Instruction) Management
- RMA Monitoring and Management
- PSD2 Money Remittance (MR) Charging Deduction Matrix Maintenance
- Payment Investigations including the Credit Payment Recovery (CPR) process
- Management of internal and external bank reference data
- General payment query support
- Hands on approach to the management of the day-to-day activities within the team
- Overview of the day to day and monthly BAU tasks and ensuring all are completed within SLA
- Automation of current manual processes to increase scalability
- Implement a culture of continuous process improvements
- Managing daily payment and workflow exceptions
Core Skills :
- Experience of working in a transactional back-office operation.
- Regulatory knowledge as applicable to role.
- Knowledge of payments types and / or making payments.
- Experience of writing and implementing operational procedures
- Experience of using MS Excel and analysing data
- Able to coordinate / lead internal meetings
- An understanding of Financial Crime within the Banking industry
- To always act with integrity and embrace the philosophy of treating our internal and external customers fairly
- Sound awareness of market landscape and knowledge of how the business functions. In-depth technical knowledge of the processes supported within Central Payment Operations.
- Ability to effectively drive change initiatives
- Ability to deliver in a fast paced and changing environment.
- Ability to assess, analyse and mitigate risk
- Ability to balance change and strive for continuous improvement. Self-starter, energetic and enthusiastic
