Description of role and key responsibilities
This role is responsible for helping shape and deliver the content programme for the Investec Private Client business. The role will be focused on our wealth and investment management services, helping to drive growth through tailored content plans for target audiences while promoting Investec's brand to existing and new clients.
The candidate should have a strong editorial mind-set, experience in supporting commercial objectives through content marketing, a solid understanding of financial services and a keen interest in business, entrepreneurship and current affairs issues that may affect our clients.
Experience in working within a marketing environment for a wealth management, financial planning or private banking business is a distinct advantage.
Strong stakeholder management, excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and deliver to consistently high standards are key. The role will be responsible for:
Helping to shape and manage the day-to-day delivery of the content strategy for Investec's wealth and investment management businessProducing and commissioning content on time and to budget, including articles, podcasts, videos, infographics, emails, marketing collateral, webpages and social posts, using in-house and agency resources
Working closely with business stakeholders and the wider marketing team to use content as part of wider multi-channel campaignsHelping to activate content to maximise engagement and ROI. This will entail close working relationships with PR, social media and the wider marketing team
Managing the regular client communications process including curating content, building emails, proof-reading and stakeholder sign-offUsing analytics to optimise content, with an understanding of performance benchmarks and targetsHelping build a ‘centre of excellence' across our content function, working with the wider team to identify best practice trends, deepen our channel expertise and bring in creativity and fresh thinking
Technical skills and experienceDo you have experience in content marketing, ideally within a wealth management or private banking environment?
Do you have editorial mind-set and excellent written and verbal communication skills? Do you have experience of working in a multi-channel marketing environment, with a strong understanding of the benefits of different content formats? Ability to consider different content formats by considering audience demographic - e.g. articles, podcasts and videosGood understanding of the financial services sector and a natural interest in economic trends, current affairs, client needs and interestsExperience of delivering against core brand and regulatory guidelines across product financial promotionsTrack record of developing effective relationships with agencies and suppliersExperience of working with web content management systemsExperience working with analytics tools; ability to interpret and apply actionable insights from performance dataA solid understanding of journalistic ethics and experience operating within a regulated environmentUnderstanding of digital and social media marketing and able to leverage effectively to increase online engagement with content
