About the Team: 

The Credit Hub supports a number of lending desks including Aviation Finance and Private Capital which are London based.

The Aviation desk operates as a global team providing innovative funding solutions to the aviation industry holding with relationships with airlines, lessors as well as manufacturers, raising debt and equity finance from partnerships with global financial institutions in the fund space as well as providing balance sheet lending.

The Private Capital team offers event-driven growth and acquisition funding to private companies and entrepreneurs based on cash flow. The team focuses on the lower mid-market, providing loan facilities ranging from £2 million to £30 million. Additionally, Private Capital supports high net worth individuals through highly tailored funding structures, offering flexible financing solutions for various needs, including personal liquidity and business investment, by taking a comprehensive view of personal balance sheets.

Key Role & Responsibilities:

The primary objectives for the Credit Analyst are to assist with the annual review process and to manage the portfolio assets within the Aviation and Private Capital lending teams.  Responsibilities include:

Portfolio Management

  • Capture, review and analyse periodic covenant and management information within established timescales.
  • Update portfolio monitoring templates and track the receipt of compliance certificates and supporting management information.
  • Monitor financial performance and covenant compliance, provide timely performance updates, identify and address warning signals and actively participate in periodic portfolio reviews.
  • Assist on facilities that have deteriorated and/or are facing challenges.

Credit Analysis / Annual Reviews

  • Coordinating with the Desk to manage the annual credit review process, including using AI platforms to draft and complete necessary documentation.
  • Demonstrate high numerical proficiency and execution skills, integral to asset-backed and cash flow lending operations.
  • Research clients diligently and obtain necessary information to support the execution and completion of annual reviews, leveraging strong credit skills to ensure thorough evaluation and compliance.
  • Adhere to stringent timelines and possess a comprehensive understanding of the Aviation and Private Capital deal lifecycles.
  • Acquiring a thorough understanding of the lending book through engagement with the Lending Desk and Financial Control.
  • Developing comprehensive market knowledge of specific assets.

Reporting

  • Collaborating with the lending team to generate necessary reports for the trading of balance sheet exposures as needed to manage credit.
  • Assisting the Financial Control team with the forecasting process.
  • Providing additional reporting support as required.

Other

  • Taking ownership and responsibility for Desk Management Information (MI) on PowerBI, including the collating and review of static data.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key internal stakeholders (e.g. credit, origination team, onboarding) with the aim of meeting internal KPIs and providing a high level of customer service.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and a results-driven mindset to consistently deliver high-quality work, while actively seeking personal development and continuous improvement to support the Aviation and Private Capital Teams in creating and refining processes and procedures.

Core Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent command of PowerPoint, Word, Excel and other relevant tools / databases.
  • Fluent in English and excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to obtain foundation knowledge of the asset market.
  • Sound understanding of financial reporting (P&L, balance and cashflow).
  • Sound understanding of credit and risk.
  • Ability to think critically, engage in analysis and make decisions.
  • Ability to research, implement and deliver projects in a time-efficient manner with strong adherence to delivery dates.
  • Willingness to learn; able to pick up new skills and technologies quickly.
  • Market Knowledge: sound awareness of the market/economic landscape and knowledge of how the business functions.
  • To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly (compulsory)
  • Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role (compulsory)
  • Personable nature to build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
