Team Description |
The Treasury Risk Solutions (TRS) desk is a client‑focused business providing structured risk‑management solutions across FX, commodities, and interest rates to corporates and fund clients.
It sits within Investec's Private Companies division, working closely with, Client Managers, Dealers, UK Credit, and Embedded Risk teams.
TRS aligns with the Global Markets ecosystem, supporting hedging activity and market‑linked client requirements across multiple currencies and commodities.

Description of role and key responsibilities |
The role supports the TRS Credit team in managing exposures and maintaining credit facilities to various client types across the TRS business.
Applicants will assist the Treasury Risk Solutions (TRS) desk in two broad areas: - Completing annual review credit papers for the desk's clients. All clients have credit facilities, and these are reviewed on an annual basis. Clients will be corporate clients from the FX and Commodities hedging desk and also fund clients that are hedging FX exposures. - Building and then maintaining a covenant monitoring model. Some facilities extended to clients of the desk (primarily fund clients) are subject to financial covenants being checked on a regular basis. Further detail on each of these is given below. Responsibilities include: Annual reviews: · The reviews will include but not be limited to – a summary of the client's current limits and exposures. A description of the business. A summary of the business's financial performance in the most recent years and an analysis on the KPIs and any noteworthy points. · To complete these reviews previous templates will be consulted and copied and amended as appropriate. · An ability to draw out trends and inconsistencies in the client's financials is key. · Discuss findings with TRS Credit team and Relationship Managers. · Liaise with client managers and dealers to request additional information from clients when required. · Submit annual review credit papers to the relevant credit committee. · Making sure reviews are finalised ahead of the scheduled due dates. Covenant Monitoring: · The team will help to build a covenant monitoring spreadsheet to capture and monitor how the desk's fund clients are performing against financial covenants detailed in their documentation. · Clients will be required to deliver financial reports to the desk on a regular basis (normally quarterly). With these reports the team will be updating the monitoring spreadsheet with the relevant inputs (normally leverage ratios, minimum NAV level etc). · The team will report to the desk on a regular basis – they'll be tracking when financial reports are overdue, when covenants have been breached and when thresholds are shifting as a result of the inputs. · The team will aid the desk in chasing up overdue reviews. · The team will aid the desk in reporting to UK Credit when covenants have been breached. It is the responsibility of all members of the team to work collaboratively within the business and to build a reputation of excellence in what we do both internally and externally.

Core Skills and Knowledge

Key competencies required include:
· Application of credit knowledge to ensure all relevant documentation and information is included within credit submissions. · Ability to perform a level of credit analysis on SME balance sheets and related statement sufficient to rationalise and respond to questions around our facility requests. · Interest and desire to learn about derivative products and solutions offered by banks to their customers. · Highly computer literate, with good skills in Excel in particular. · Strong administrative and prioritisation skills.
