The role:

As part of the Credit and Lending Services Team, you will support the effective execution, completion and ongoing management of lending transactions throughout the life of the loan. This is a broad, practical role sitting at the intersection of legal support, lending execution, credit process and portfolio administration. You will help to ensure that lending matters are progressed efficiently, accurately and in accordance with internal legal, credit, operational and risk management requirements, enabling IBCI to maintain the high level of client service, experience and professionalism which is a fundamental and core selling point for the wider high net worth lending business.

Key responsibilities:

The role will specifically involve:
•    Support the completion of lending transactions, including the preparation and completion of lending documentation, and take simple transactions through to completion where required, with support.
•    Manage or support lending transactions through to drawdown and beyond, including the monitoring of any credit related matters.
•    Provide support and guidance to the lending team on any client or transaction matters that arise.
•    Identify, escalate and help to resolve legal, credit, operational or completion related issues in a timely manner, including matters requiring input from the Head of Credit and Lending Services, Credit Committee, relationship managers or external counsel.
•    Adhere to IBCI CLS processes and procedures so that legal, credit and operational risk is effectively managed, limited or reduced.
•    Manage or coordinate matters to be addressed post drawdown, including standing order and direct debit arrangements, client care letters, outstanding conditions subsequent and related record updates.
•    Respond to queries from relationship managers and external parties and provide appropriate progress updates on lending matters where required.
•    Maintain the Bank's security and loan records in accordance with internal procedures, ensuring that relevant records are accurate, complete and up to date.
•    Support the effective management of the Bank's legal, credit and operational risk in relation to its lending portfolio by following internal processes, escalating issues appropriately, and ensuring that applicable credit limits, approval conditions and credit appetite limits are adhered to.
•    Maintain and update client and lending records in the Vision banking system to ensure all records are correct and up to date.
•    Assist other members of the Department as and when required.
•    Instruct and liaise with external counsel, where appropriate and in accordance with internal procedures, in connection with new loan facilities, renewals, extensions, amendments and related security matters.
•    Liaise with relationship managers, clients and external solicitors in respect of the completion of new loan facilities, existing loan renewals and short-term loan extensions.
•    Draft, finalise and issue facility documentation in respect of new loan facilities, existing loan renewals, short term loan extensions and amendments.
•    Draft, anonymise, finalise and maintain precedent documentation for the CLS precedent document bank.
•    Take part and contribute to projects as and when they arise, enabling the team to become more efficient and keep up to date with the latest software and technological changes.
•    Identify and raise opportunities to improve CLS processes, strengthen controls and increase efficiency.
•    Support reporting activity in respect of lending transactions, portfolio matters, completion status and exceptions, liaising with relevant colleagues as required.
•    Review facility documentation drafted by other members of the Department.
•    Check new loan completions, facility renewals and short form facility extensions or amendments prepared by other team members, providing sign off at completion where authorised to do so.
