Role: D365 Developer

Team Description

Investec is undertaking a once-in-a-generation transformation to move to a fully cloud native & SaaS technology stack, entirely built on Azure. As part of this transformation, we are heavily leveraging D365 as the backbone of our business processes.

The D365 Digital & Technology team plays the central role in this transformation, both in shaping the blueprint for the future state and the role of D365 in that vision, and also in delivering broad and deep digitalisation, automation and data-driven insights.

Description of role and key responsibilities

This role is the developer within a small squad that delivers D365 product for an entire business value stream. The incumbent will build, configure, develop, test and deploy solutions on and alongside D365, including integration in Azure. The incumbent would need to understand the commercial and functional objectives of the business and support the delivery of business value, working in an exciting, fast-paced, creative and commercial environment.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Involvement throughout the full project lifecycle, working with clients and Solution Architects to define requirements and design the solution, through to the developing the changes that enables the core business processes
  • Stay on top of Microsoft's CRM roadmap and ensure that new development uses current functionality and leverages product features
  • Custom integrations, and supporting changes in production
  • Working with end users and business stakeholders to assure best practices are consistently being used
  • Functional analysis work - inclusive of technical specifications
  • Development of enhancements and new applications based on the technical specifications
  • D365 low code configuration e.g. UI, workflows, rules
  • Engagement with Microsoft and its partners.

Core skills and knowledge

The ideal candidate for this role is a D365 / C# developer with strong .Net skills and hands-on Azure experience, allied to a good functional and commercial understanding of the Banking industry.

Core skills include:

  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365/CRM development environment (V8-9)
  • Proficient with Microsoft .NET technologies.
  • Proficient with JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks
  • Proficient with unit testing and applicable Dynamics testing frameworks
  • Proficient with Microsoft Dynamics CRM APIs and web services
  • Experience with Scribe or other ETL tools like SSIS
  • Experience with SQL databases (SQL Server preferred)
  • Experience of internal testing and QA processes
  • Experience of working within Agile teams
  • Flexible attitude, critical thinking and the ability to leverage technology to solve business problems
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Experience of banking across a range of financial products (savings, lending, advisory) and customer segments (individuals, companies)
  • Experience of working with Azure Functions
  • Experience of working with Canvas and Power Automate
