Role: D365 Functional Consultant (FTC)

Team Description

Investec is undertaking a once-in-a-generation transformation to move to a fully cloud native & SaaS technology stack, entirely built on Azure. As part of this transformation, we are heavily leveraging D365 as the backbone of our business processes.

The D365 Digital & Technology team plays the central role in this transformation, both in shaping the blueprint for the future state and the role of D365 in that vision, and also in delivering broad and deep digitalisation, automation and data-driven insights.

Description of role and key responsibilities

The role will be managing the full life cycle business requirements, analysis, front-end development, QA, implementation, and support. The role will be responsible for eliciting requirements from the relevant stakeholders across Corporate & Private Client; producing in-depth business analysis (detailed functional specifications, use case documents and data / process flow diagrams) specific to the application. The candidate will be required to build and manage strong relationships with stakeholders across the bank as well as provide input into Dynamics 365 architectural designs ensuring the holistic strategy of Investec is aligned.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Business process mapping, modelling and documentation knowledge
  • Develop, design, and implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions as part of both project-focused and business as usual work streams
  • Deployment, upgrades, and production support on systems for the application
  • Managing business change i.e Workforce Engagement, Change Impact Assessment, Change Readiness & Training Plans.
  • Analysing & documenting integration mappings
  • Codeless automation (workflows, business rules, power automate)
  • Facilitating workshops, gathering, and documenting requirements, translating requirements into business processes and creative thinking.
  • Continually develop your knowledge of new functionality in the Microsoft platforms, keeping on top of roadmaps, studying for certifications and being ahead of the curve regarding what the future holds and how it can benefit our end users.
  • Ability to work independently once given tasks and interact with end users from all areas of the bank.
  • Analytical with excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to work and perform in an agile environment with flexibility to change

Core skills and knowledge

The ideal candidate for this role will have strong product expertise in Microsoft Dynamics allied to a deep understanding of the Banking industry, but we will consider candidates with either a strong Dynamics background or significant Banking knowledge.

Core skills include:

  • A proven ability to develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders up to C-suite level
  • A clear ability to understand and extract stakeholders & clients' needs and document these thoroughly
  • Experience using project management tools (DevOps & Confluence)
  • Extensive experience working with Microsoft Dynamics CRM front-end configuration (Version 9 & Unified Interface required)
  • Extensive experience in a similar role with an in-depth understanding of key project methodologies (agile/ scrum)
  • Experience working within the financial sector
  • Ability to work with & produce key project artefacts (functional design specifications, process maps, data flows and wireframes)
  • Full lifecycle experience on CRM or ERP based programmes within Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Flexible attitude, critical thinking, and the ability to leverage technology to solve business problems
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage & prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable running workshops, delivering training and producing training documentation
  • Self-starter and proactive attitude are essential

Other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role.

Other beneficial attributes include:

  • Dynamics 365 certifications
  • Experience with JavaScript and Typescript frameworks
  • Basic understanding of and experience with SQL databases (SQL Server preferred)
  • An understanding of the broader Microsoft stack and be able to leverage it to create powerful solutions (PowerApps, Power BI, Common Data Services, Azure, Office 365) and working in fast paced Agile environments
