We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to deliver and evolve domain-aligned analytics products within a centrally governed Microsoft data platform.
This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to understand their data needs and delivering high-quality, performant reports / dashboards and visualisations.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Logic & Data Product Definition
•Translate business requirements into structured analytical specifications.
•Define KPIs, metric calculations, and validated business rules.
•Collaborate with Data Engineers to ensure transformations accurately reflect domain logic.
•Validate outputs during SQL-to-Lakehouse modernization.
•Contribute to the lifecycle management of domain data products.Semantic Modeling & Analytics Layer Ownership
•Design and maintain Fabric semantic models aligned to enterprise standards.
•Implement star schemas optimized for Power BI performance and self-service.
•Refactor legacy SSAS and reporting logic into governed semantic layers.
•Ensure metric consistency across dashboards and analytical assets.
•Balance performance, usability, and governance in semantic design.Power BI & Insight Delivery
•Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
•Apply statistical techniques and models to interpret data and generate insights.
•Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports as per persona/stakeholder requirements.
•Develop complex DAX calculations, KPIs, and time-intelligence metrics.
•Optimize report performance and implement row-level security (RLS).
•Monitor adoption and usage of analytics products.
•Continuously refine reports based on business feedback.
Reusable scripts/ Reports/ CI/CD
•Develop Python scripts for automation, data processing, and advanced analytics.
•Integrate Power BI with external systems and APIs.
•Automate recurring reports and data refresh workflows.
•Implement version control and documentation for BI solutions.
Self-Service Analytics Enablement
•Partner with the Analytics Enablement team to define and document self-service playbooks.
•Design semantic models that are intuitive and consumption ready.
•Support the creation of reusable datasets and governed templates.
•Contribute to documentation, training materials, and usage guidelines.
•Promote responsible and governed self-service practices within the domain.
Conversational & AI-Driven Analytics
•Collaborate with the Analytics Enablement team to define playbooks for AI agents and conversational analytics.
•Ensure semantic models support natural language querying and AI interpretation.
•Structure datasets to enable accurate AI-generated insights.
•Validate AI-driven outputs against business logic and KPI definitions.
•Identify high-value use cases for AI-enhanced analytics within the domain.
Legacy BI Transition Support
•Support migration of reports and analytical assets from:
oSSRS
oSSAS
oSQL-based reporting environments
•Validate modernized outputs against legacy results.
Contribute to structured decommissioning of legacy BI artifacts.
Continuous Improvement:
•Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices in data analysis.
•Suggest improvements to data processes and methodologies for enhanced efficiency.
•Develop and promote reuse, standards and practices via playbooks
•Collaborate with COE community to drive group analytics context within /across teams via knowledge sharing sessions
•Cultivate & participate in culture focused on data quality, data governance, data security best practices
Core Skills & Competencies :
•3-6 years of relevant experience as a Data Analyst
•Strong Analytical Skills and Power BI Reporting skills
•Ability to translate business requirements into data and technical design artifacts.
•Strong programming skills in python and sql.
•Proven experience in Azure Data Platform technologies:
oMicrosoft Fabric, Spark , spark SQL , Python , Power BI, SQL
•Experience developing or supporting executive-level reporting or dashboards.
•Strong documentation skills to prepare content for enablement, create / record videos.
•Good understanding of data warehousing, data modelling, Data Visualization
•Familiarity with Agile delivery and data governance frameworks.
•Solid understanding of dimensional modeling, including star schema and Kimball-based methodologies.
•Experience designing and optimizing semantic models for enterprise analytics platforms such as Power BI.
•Experience working in enterprise-scale or regulated environments with disciplined delivery practices.
Desirable Skills:
•Good to have Power Automate/ Alerting knowledge
•Good to have AI/ML Model building experience and Azure ML/Python/R.
•Experience with Spark (PySpark preferred) for distributed data transformation, Python notebooks.
•Familiarity with CI/ CD tools – github / Azure repo
•Familiarity with SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS, including modernization of legacy BI assets.
•Experience in Fabric Agents, Power BI to Fabric Migration,
•Understanding of KPIs in Banking/ financial services / capital markets (e.g., balance sheet metrics, profitability, risk indicators).
•Experience with statistical analysis and forecasting
Preferred Qualifications :
Microsoft certifications (Azure Fabric Data Analyst – DP600, Power BI Analyst – PL300)
•Exposure to AI/ML data preparation workflows.
•Experience in enterprise-scale or regulated environments.
