Investec are looking for a Deal Manager to join the Group Lending Operations within Credit Agency, where you will play a central role in supporting complex lending arrangements and maintaining strong relationships across the lending ecosystem.

Acting as a key point of contact for borrowers, lending teams, syndicated lenders and sub-participants, you will coordinate important financial, legal and covenant-related information throughout the lifecycle of a facility. This is a highly visible position that combines specialist lending knowledge, stakeholder management and operational control, giving you the opportunity to strengthen the quality, resilience and effectiveness of Investec's Credit Agency proposition.

We're looking for someone who combines technical lending expertise with curiosity, accountability and a positive, collaborative approach. You will be comfortable working through complexity, managing sensitive and time-critical matters, and building effective partnerships across lending, legal, operational and external stakeholder groups.

What will I be doing?

• Act as the primary contact for borrowers, lending teams, syndicated lenders and sub-participants on covenants, consents, waivers and other facility-related communications.
• Establish and maintain Debt Domain sites, including lender information, permissions, folder structures, access rights and borrower invitations.
• Create and manage covenant diaries, checking that financial and covenant information meets the requirements set out in the relevant facility agreement.
• Distribute covenant information promptly and manage queries from lenders and sub-participants, escalating covenant breaches appropriately.
• Coordinate consent and waiver applications with internal stakeholders, legal teams, syndicated lenders and other external parties.
• Support the syndicated lending lifecycle by managing lender transfers, secondary trade documentation, KYC information and relevant withholding tax forms.
• Work closely with lending desks to understand portfolio strategy and changing volumes, while building effective relationships across internal and external stakeholder groups.
• Produce desk-level management information, risk event analysis and key risk indicators to strengthen governance, oversight and operational control.

What are we looking for?

What's Essential

• Strong experience across a broad and complex lending product range, including security and covenant management.
• The ability to interpret and translate complex credit, ancillary and security documentation into effective operational activity.
• A strong understanding of the lending risk environment and the relationship between covenants, credit risk and portfolio analysis.
• Knowledge of syndicated lending and its lifecycle, including lender transfers, secondary loan trading, sub-participations and the responsibilities of an agent bank.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage high volumes and deliver effectively under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence to negotiate requirements and manage complex stakeholder interactions.
• A proactive, accountable and collaborative approach, with the ability to build trusted relationships and take ownership of outcomes.
• Awareness of the regulatory requirements relevant to the role, combined with integrity, sound judgement and a commitment to effective risk management.

What's Desirable

• Credit Agency market experience that can strengthen specialist capability and share knowledge across the wider team.
• Real estate finance experience, including familiarity with real estate loan structures and property-related covenants.
• Understanding of the downstream impact of lending activity on finance, funding and market, operational and credit risk reporting.
• Strong systems knowledge and the ability to adapt confidently to changing technical environments.
• Experience of identifying learning needs and supporting the training, coaching or development of colleagues.
• Experience of driving change, improving processes and identifying opportunities to increase operational efficiency.
• Knowledge of Investec policies, procedures, authorisation processes and relevant IT applications.
• Broad knowledge of Investec Bank plc lending products currently under management.
