We are looking for a Deal Manager to support Corporate and Specialist Lending transactions across their lifecycle.

Acting as a key partner to the lending businesses, you will be the primary point of contact for Global Lending Operations activity. You will work closely with Relationship Managers and stakeholders across Treasury, Client Services, Legal Risk, Group Risk, Financial Control, Settlements, Credit Services, and Financial Crime and Fraud.

The role combines transaction execution, operational oversight, stakeholder management, risk control, and data ownership. You will help ensure that complex lending transactions are managed effectively, with client and investor needs, data quality, and risk mitigation at the centre of the service provided.

What will I be doing?

Partner with the lending businesses, attending Lending Desk meetings where required to understand strategy, transaction activity, and changes in volumes.
Review draft credit, ancillary, and security documentation, recommending changes that improve the operational management of transactions.
Govern the execution and booking of new deals, including initial commitments, pay-away conditions, withholding tax documentation, conditions subsequent, and deal handovers.
Produce and hand over accurate term and deal notes to Transaction Manager servicing teams, ensuring relevant documentation is stored with appropriate permissions and access controls.
Oversee transaction data, fee bookings, amortisation, security and collateral records, valuations, derivative reconciliations, regulatory reporting, IFRS 9 classification, and funding costs.
Manage trading and sell-down activity, waiver applications, borrower and lender withholding tax processes, arrears, and the controlled release of security following loan redemption.
Oversee reconciliations and support the resolution of complex breaks and long-outstanding items, producing risk event analysis to address control gaps and reduce operational risk.
Own the accuracy of dashboards, management information, and Key Risk Indicator reporting, while supporting wider change initiatives and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency.

What are we looking for?

What's essential

Strong experience across a broad and complex range of lending products, together with a clear understanding of the lending risk environment.
Lending platform experience eg Loan IQ or comparable, including the ability to build deals.
The ability to interpret and operationalise complex credit, ancillary, and security documentation.
An understanding of downstream implications across finance, funding, market risk, operational risk, credit risk, and regulatory reporting.
Strong systems knowledge and the flexibility to navigate and adapt to a continuously changing technical environment.
A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage high volumes and remain effective under pressure.
Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to negotiate requirements and build effective relationships across the organisation.
A high level of accountability, emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and coachability, together with the ability to support development, facilitate change, and identify opportunities for greater efficiency.

What's desirable

Knowledge of relevant Investec policies, procedures, and authorisation processes.
Loan IQ platform experience
Familiarity with relevant Investec IT applications.
Extensive and varied knowledge of the range of IBP lending products currently under management.
