Role Overview:

Investec is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to join our Direct Lending team. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in the origination, credit analysis, structuring, and execution of financing transactions. You will also play a key role in acquiring new clients and supporting the performance monitoring of existing clients, all while facilitating cross-selling opportunities to maximise return on capital.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transaction Execution: Lead the credit analysis, structuring, and execution of new lending opportunities, ensuring excellence in due diligence, financial modelling, and deal structuring.
• Client Acquisition: Assist in the development of new client relationships, particularly with financial sponsors and corporate management.
• Portfolio Management: Collaborate with the Private Credit Management team to monitor and manage existing assets post-transaction.
• Internal Effectiveness: Contribute to the delivery of financial budgets and return hurdles, ensuring compliance with Investec's risk appetite and internal policies.
• Team Development: Support the growth and development of the Direct Lending team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.

About Direct Lending:

The Direct Lending team provides flexible capital solutions to businesses with EBITDA ranging from £3 million to £75 million in the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe (specifically Benelux and DACH regions). Our transactions include growth capital, acquisition finance, management buyouts, leveraged finance, recapitalisations, and structured corporate lending. With over 15 years of experience and £2.0 billion+ in assets under management, we are committed to delivering tailored financing solutions that meet our clients' needs.

Core Skills and Knowledge:

Technical Knowledge & Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of the UK corporate market with strong deal origination and execution experience.
• High competence in analysing financial statements and assessing business and operational risks.
• Deep understanding of structured finance and investment markets, including the negotiation of legal documentation.
• Proficient in the internal credit authorisation process and compliance frameworks.
• Advanced IT literacy, particularly in financial modelling and analysis.
