Employee Communications Manager

Investec are seeking a talented and experienced Employee Communications Manager to join our dynamic team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will play a pivotal role in creating, managing, and delivering internal communications and engagement plans. You will be responsible for driving employee engagement, ensuring our people feel informed, engaged, and aligned with our business strategy. With a focus on both Investec Bank PLC (90% of the role) and Investec Wealth & Investment (IW&I UK) now part of Rathbones Plc (10% of the role), you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact.

What you will be doing

  • Develop and execute employee engagement and internal communications plans that foster a sense of connection, purpose, and alignment with the business strategy.
  • Manage end-to-end multi-channel campaigns, including stakeholder management, communications planning, content creation, and delivery through various channels such as email, video, newsletters, intranet content, and staff town halls.
  • Provide thought leadership and stay abreast of external trends and best practices in employee communications.
  • Measure the outcomes of internal communications initiatives against quantitative and qualitative targets and budgets, identifying key measures of success and adapting strategies as needed.
  • Actively contribute to the communications team, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with the broader marketing team to ensure alignment between internal and external communications, as well as drive alignment within the Investec Group to streamline activities.

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrable progressive experience in internal communications within a global or large company.
  • Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to work closely with senior leadership to develop action plans and maintain momentum in employee engagement initiatives.
  • Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to craft various types of communications and adapt to different styles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a confident communicator.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and agility to balance priorities and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Proven ability to measure outcomes through quantitative and qualitative methods and embrace new approaches.
  • Creative mindset, with a collaborative approach and a willingness to contribute innovative ideas.
  • Proactive, driven, and accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Additional Skills (Advantageous):

  • Experience working with Dotdigital or a similar email management platform.
