Position: Equity Sales into Europe

Role Description and Key Responsibilities:

The Equity Sales role is pivotal in servicing institutional clients across Europe, including insurance companies, pension funds, investment trusts, mutual funds, hedge funds, and other specialist fund management houses. The aim is to generate revenue and secure votes by effectively promoting investment ideas and research.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Actively promote investment ideas from research analysts and the institutional sales team to clients through presentations, meetings, calls, and digital communication.
  • Accurately take and process institutional client orders, ensuring timely relay to trading and market-making desks.
  • Enhance Investec's reputation and market presence by promoting securities and investment banking teams and services to clients.
  • Collaborate with the research team to identify marketable products, organize analyst roadshows, and provide market intelligence feedback to enhance product effectiveness.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of a broad universe of companies, including their investment cases and financial health.
  • Participate in company visits and meetings to deepen understanding of company operations and market positioning.
  • Occasionally accompany corporate representatives to investor meetings.

 

Core Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Proven track record in equity sales.
  • Commitment to integrity and the philosophy of treating customers fairly.
  • In-depth regulatory knowledge applicable to the role.

 

This role is designed for a highly motivated and knowledgeable professional who excels in a dynamic, client-focused environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong capacity for strategic sales initiatives and possess the skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders.
