Finance Technology Senior Analyst – EPM, Apps & ERP (5889)

Who will my key relationships be with?

  • Liaison with UK, Offshore and SA Finance teams and other key business stakeholders.
  • Develop relationships across the Digital and Technology community to leverage knowledge and capabilities.
  • Assist the Finance Technology Platform owner in ensuring that Finance, client segments, operations and other key enablement functions and tech work towards a shared vision and shared objectives.

How would you describe the team?

The Finance & Tax technology team is responsible for the provision of support, maintenance and development of the company's Statutory, Regulatory and Management reporting applications, associated processes and technology needs.

Responding to requests from, and liaising with, Investec PLC accountants in multiple locations, as part of the day to day running of a comprehensive array of Finance and Tax technology solutions.
The EPM and Apps toolset comprises: Hyperion Essbase, Planning, Reports, Oracle DRM, FDMEE, Authority Suite, and Oracle Cloud EPM (ARCS), CCH Accounts and Tax and TCSL Tax applications.

The role will also provide exposure to JD Edwards, Hubble, Concur, MS SQL, SSIS and Power BI.

What will my role and key responsibilities entail?

• Providing general user support, guidance and training to the user base;
• Working closely alongside all team members for cross cover, support and to balance the workload at peak periods.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation and the application of best practice, and the implementation thereof;
• Finance Data and Metadata maintenance, housekeeping and controls in accordance with Group Finance policy;
• Performing and monitoring the interfacing of data with other internal systems (including actual, budget and forecast roll forward processes );
• Performing daily, monthly, quarterly and year-end procedures to enable adherence with the Group reporting timetable where appropriate;
• Adherence with internal control procedures, monitoring and resolving data integrity exceptions and out-of-order conditions including regular check processes;
• Assisting with various ad hoc duties and project work as required from time to time.
• Working closely alongside all team members for cross cover, support and to balance the workload.
• Assisting when needed at peak times with General ledger user support, accounting queries and period end systems tasks, user training.

What core skills and knowledge are you looking for?

  • Experienced with the support and enhancement of processes using the following products - Hyperion Essbase (essential), Hyperion Planning (essential), Hyperion Financial Reports, ARCS, and FDMEE.
  • Knowledge of ERP processes and JD Edwards ERP an added advantage.
  • Some SQL experience advantageous
  • Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role (essential)
  • Good communication and ability to inspire confidence in stakeholders
  • Finance background and accounting skills essential (professional Accounting qualification/part qualification, relevant Degree highly advantageous)
  • A flair for both technology and finance.
  • Understanding of the technology and processes involved in the Finance function
  • Familiarity with helpdesk function and user support role with demonstrated internal client interaction
  • Highly Competent with Microsoft Office (with emphasis on Excel) - must possess ability to manipulate large and sometimes complex sets of data.
  • Superior analytical skills and problem solving ability, following Issues/concerns through to delivery/solution.

Any other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role?

Knowledge of a range of different vendor offerings in the EPM/ERP space.
Knowledge of the UK Finance, Tax & Regulatory reporting environment
