Role: Financial Controller
Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer
Role and key responsibilities:
Statutory, management and group reporting:
- Responsible for the Group reporting process to ensure it is completed accurately, in accordance with agreed Group policies and accounting standards, to allow production of consolidated group accounts
- Manage the internal management reporting process to ensure all reporting is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain relationships with Finance colleagues in other Group locations and ensure all group requirements are understood and satisfied.
- Preparation of Annual Statutory Accounts and Group Reporting at year end
Management information:
- Oversee the timely completion of monthly MI to aid management of business performance.
Regulatory Reporting:
- Manage the preparation of quarterly regulatory reporting for local regulators (GFSC, JFSC).
- Ensure that the reporting is complete, accurate, authorised and prepared on a timely basis.
- Have a good understanding of the regulatory environment including the regulations, rules and guidance and their implications relevant to the job and to follow all applicable internal compliance considerations and appropriate processes, policies and procedures.
Group Reporting:
- Completion of Asset and Liability Management (ALM) reporting to allow consolidated UK reporting to PRA.
- Completion of Fin Rep reporting and additional ALCO reporting as required by group.
- Other ad-hoc Group reporting as required.
Treasury Reporting:
- Oversee the monitoring and control of Treasury Risks (counterparty, liquidity, capital adequacy, FX exposure, interest rate, settlement risks) on a daily basis.
- Review, analyse and report Treasury Income.
Taxation:
- Ensure all taxation reporting is completed accurately and within required deadlines and that tax payments are made within agreed deadlines.
General:
- Review key Balance sheet reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Assist the Chief Financial Officer in ad-hoc financial projects.
- Liaise with internal auditors, external auditors and tax advisors and ensure that required information and reports are available as necessary.
- Approval of supplier payments and employee expenses, ensuring that all requests for payments are correctly authorised in line with approved policies.
- Day to day management of Finance team, providing training and advice as necessary.
Core Skills and Knowledge:
- Ideally a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified)
- Three years PQE
- Financial services background.
- Regulatory Reporting experience or good understanding of the regulatory environment including the regulations, rules and guidance.
- Computer literate – knowledge of accounting systems / banking systems / strong excel skills.
- Experience of managing staff
- Strong analytical & problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Team player & cooperative
