About the team:
The Central P&A team plays a crucial role in supporting Investec plc's strategic decision-making processes. This position involves analysing financial data, developing forecasts, and providing insights to executive level stakeholders to drive our financial performance.
The team resides within the wider Finance function and is responsible for producing group management reporting including Board Reports, liaising closely with Investor Relations during market updates, providing ad-hoc analytical support for strategic decision making and partnering with Technology to evolve our core Finance technology capabilities.
What will I be doing?
The Finance Function is currently undergoing a significant transformation project. This is a temporary role (12 months) to add capacity to this high performing team of 4 people, supporting across numerous existing activities. The role will include:
- Engaging regularly with the Finance Director for Investec plc on financial performance
- Producing/reviewing financials for executive team, with a view to understand, explain, and improve performance
- Consolidating the annual 3-year P&L & Balance Sheet plans
- Collating and reviewing the annual stress scenarios as prescribed by the Stress Testing and Capital Planning teams
- Assisting in preparing the final presentation of the plans to the Board
- Monitoring and analysing industry trends and market conditions to identify opportunities and risks
- Driving system improvements to continue streamlining processes and ensuring new business and reporting requirements are accommodated
- Elevating existing reporting standards as necessary
- Support the Resolvability Assessment Framework (RAF) Valuation 3 project
- Supporting other ad-hoc analysis and projects as required
What will I need to bring?
- Strong experience in management accounting/reporting (Fully Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or Equivalent)
- Previous experience in Financial Services/Large Corporate
- Significant involvement in 3-year planning/forecasting
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
- Strong PowerPoint skills for Executive consumption
- Excellent communication skills
- Well-rounded and commercially oriented
- Strong team player
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities
- Strong relationship management skills
Highly Desirable
- Knowledge of JDE/Essbase/Hyperion
- UK Banking regulatory knowledge
