Role: Fraud Systems & Analytics Manager

Location: London

What is the opportunity?

A rare opportunity to become part of a small but highly talented team responsible for protecting all Investec Bank Plc and its clients from becoming victims of fraud. This is an excellent opportunity to increase your breadth of knowledge and experience responsible for a for a diverse set of functions including Private Clients, Wealth and Investments, Asset Finance and Private Companies. This unique role would suit a people manager who is hands on, able to deliver through others and with a high attention for detail.

 What will the role involve? 

Fraud Risk Systems

Our fraud systems are integral across IBP in protecting both the Bank and our clients from becoming victims of fraud. You will be required to develop and deliver the fraud systems roadmap ensuring the organisation is protected from advancing fraud threats. providing of subject matter expertise to the business, IT and third party partners to enable the effective implementations of global fraud systems. Driving the adoption of global fraud detection systems, including influencing senior management, liaison with key stakeholders and inputting towards the business case rationale.

Implementation of global fraud systems upgrades/enhancements whilst ensuring client experience and fraud risk are not compromised. Implementation and monitoring of the performance of fraud rules and strategies across all relevant systems.

Risk Analysis & Reporting

Support the team in conducting analysis into global fraud and genuine trends to develop innovative strategies that balance fraud prevention and client experience. Reporting of analysis findings, making recommendations to the business regarding fraud strategy.

Proactively identify new fraud risks/client trends and investigate results that are outside of expectations making recommendations for changes to the framework / strategy as required. Where appropriate completing ad-hoc analysis into fraud related business issues as required.

Manage internal and external regulatory reporting to the FCA, UK Finance and SABRIC, providing best practice guidance on reporting for fraud across both UK and South African geographies

Fraud Risk Management Governance & Projects

Support the management of the global fraud risk management roadmap, working with the IBP Head of Fraud in defining and implementing fraud risk requirements across Investec Group.

Keeping up to date with the latest thinking, research and development, and industry best practice in the field of fraud management. Attend and represent Investec at Industry forums and meetings.

People management

Create and articulate strategic goals and short and medium-term priorities. Inspire and drive high performance team, enabling each member to understand his/her role to be successful. Set clear goals  with a focus on delivering results and continual development. Monitor and review goals with team members on a regular basis, providing the necessary resources and support. Ensure that timely and constructive feedback and coaching is provided to all team members, allowing them to grow and fulfil their potential. Proactively create and/or identify appropriate performance interventions for high and low performers.

Ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the business to drive the fraud agenda and have fraud requirements met in order to drive the required changes within systems that influence fraud systems performance including data acquisition.

What  skills and knowledge do we require? 

Technical knowledge

  • Experience in managing projects and defining system requirements
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail 
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL programming
  • Strong awareness of process, procedures systems and technology.

Skills

  • Experienced in implementing systems
  • Experienced in driving technical projects
  • Exceptionally numerate and be able to interpret large data sets
