Fund Selection Specialist

The role of the Investment and Research Office is to help shape the firm's high level investment strategy and asset allocation, oversee portfolio construction, and provide central coverage of a range of investment vehicles. Additional roles include marketing (newsletters, external and internal presentations, media work) and maintenance of systems. The team currently comprises 23 people.

About the role:

To provide and communicate high quality, professional research services in all aspects of fund investments, for the use across our in-house audience.

  • Monitor and conduct on-going due diligence work on a sub set of the existing Researched List, including onshore and offshore funds and investment trusts
  • Identify new fund ideas and vehicles, and conduct necessary due diligence, both quantitatively and qualitatively
  • Advise and educate the internal client base on the Researched List funds in terms of both risk and opportunity (including the model portfolio process)
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of investment products, professional expertise and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements / procedures at all times
  • Where appropriate, contribute towards business strategy, including identifying prospective clients and helping generate new business through the promotion of company services

  • Willingness to learn and develop on a continuous basis
  • Familiarity with Morningstar, Factset and Bloomberg systems is an advantage, though not a requirement
