Who are we?
Investec is a distinctive specialist bank based on the edge of The City - opposite St. Paul's Cathedral.

This role sits within the Content team in UK Central Marketing – alongside our PR, Digital, Planning and Event management teams.

You will be a fluent writer and storyteller, able to translate complex text into plain English for a wider audience. More than anything you need to be ‘out of the ordinary'. Job Synopsis

The Head of Content will articulate and execute a long-term strategy to drive engagement and business growth through relevant content targeting a range of audience sements. You will lead the team responsible for day-to-day delivery, while contributing directly to content projects as required. In addition to direct reports and a network of external suppliers, you will work closely with with key internal stakeholders, including the UK private client and global content teams, segment marketing leads and group marketing functions including PR, brand management and internal communications.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define an effective content strategy for B2B banking segments and group stakeholders
  • Ensure appropriate strategic and operational alignment with the UK private client content function and colleagues in other territories, notably South Africa.
  • Develop a deep understanding of UK target segments and identify relevant content pillars to engage these audiences, build brand awareness and trust, and promote profitable client actions that further Investec's business objectives.
  • Identify key thought leaders inside Investec and build a community of content contribuers and producers across the UK business.
  • Lead the core UK B2B and Group content team, upskilling where needed and encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Serve as a hands-on editor-in-chief, guiding the team on content selection and editorial angles and maintaining alignment of messaging, a unified editorial calendar, and adherence to our style and tone-of-voice conventions.
  • Oversee the distribution and promotion of content on appropriate owned, earned and paid channels to maximise ROI. This will entail close working relationships with segment marketing leads, digital channel specialists and the wider marketing team.
  • Define target metrics and apply analytics to evaluate and improve content programmes, instilling a results-driven culture with regular reporting against performance goals and benchmarks
  • Build capabilities in key content formats, including podcasting and video, using a combination of internal skills and external vendors.
  • Identify and contract with a range of external suppliers to deliver against specialist content needs.

Essential Criteria

Do you have extensive experience as a leader in a content-related role, with a proven track record of delivering against commercial objectives?

Do you have an understanding of the financial services sector and a natural interest in finance, market trends and current affairs.

Do you have a working knowledge of marketing and communications principles and processes?

Are you experienced in distributing and promoting multimedia content on a range of owned, earned, direct and paid digital platforms?

The ability to work with analytics, interpreting data and translating them into actionable insights for reporting and decision-making.

A track record of developing strong and effective relationships with agencies and suppliers.

Experience working with web content management systems (AEM preferred, but not essential).

Behaviorable Skillset 

The role requires a strategic thinker who can also deliver commercial and operational outcomes.

You're able to articulate a vision, galvanise a team and get stuck in directly on key tasks as required.

You have the intellectual and emotional range to inspire, coach and empower people to perform to the best of their abilities

You're able to run complex, multi-channel content projects from conception to completion.
