Investec is seeking a highly motivated Head of Digital Platforms to join our Private Companies Group (PCG) team. As the Head of Digital Platforms, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering our digital proposition and products, aligning them with the overall client strategy of the PCG. Your primary focus will be on supporting the Treasury (FX & Deposits) and Transactional Banking desks in the UK, as well as the Investec Europe Limited (IEL) Treasury team. Additionally, you will be responsible for shaping the wider PCG digital experience and product set in line with PCG and Client Digital Experience (CDX) priorities.

To excel in this role, you will need to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders from commercial, tech, and operations teams. Collaborating closely with these teams, you will define the digital product vision, strategy, and roadmap, while also taking ownership of the technical strategy and planning. This includes the responsibilities of an application owner. We are open to individuals from an engineering background, design background or product strategy. It is essential that this individual comes from a tech background previously (not pure product)

What you will be doing

• Lead and manage a cross-functional digital product team of approximately 20 members located in both the UK and South Africa.
• Drive individual performance, mentor team members, and ensure the team is motivated to deliver against strategic objectives.
• Ensure that our digital proposition and products align with the overall PCG strategy and priorities.
• Collaborate with business partners to define the digital product vision, strategy, objectives, and roadmap.
• Work closely with key digital and tech partners to shape the digital product and application vision, architecture, and roadmap.
• Continuously track digital product performance and client experience, implementing improvements based on agreed metrics and client feedback.
• Conduct user and desk research to gain an understanding of client needs and the marketplace, utilizing qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Collaborate with the Bank architecture team and engineering team to ensure our applications follow best practices.
• Act as an application owner, taking responsibility for the application's vision, roadmap, management, operational running, application data, application risks, security, and vendor management.
• Develop and deliver the cloud roadmap for the applications you are responsible for.

What we are looking for

• Proven experience leading teams of 10+ people to design, deliver, and run successful digital products or platforms in highly regulated environments.
• Strong day-to-day management, coaching, and assessment skills.
• Ability to build strong partnerships with stakeholders and demonstrate the commercial value of technology solutions.
• Effective influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts and technologies to varied stakeholders.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate digital and technology concepts that support key business outcomes.
• Entrepreneurial, innovative, persistent, and determined mindset, with the ability to create and build new businesses.
• Creative, problem-solver, collaborative, and curious nature with a passion for collaboration
• Strategic and commercial thinking, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Additional attributes that would be helpful:

• Experience in commercial or business banking, particularly in the FX and transactional banking business lines.
• Demonstrated experience managing vendor products.
• Financial accountability for a team or business area.
