Head of Office/Divisional Director (3407)

An exciting opportunity to join the Glasgow office as the Regional Head

We are looking for a leader to manage the regional business unit in a manner that is consistent with the cultures and values of the firm. To ensure local accountability for all client, supervisory, regulatory and technical requirements pertaining to the successful operation of the branch and liaise closely with senior management on the local implementation of the firm's strategic aims

The successful individual will be required to be operationally responsible for the structure of the branch to ensure a high quality of client service provided in a manner consistent with objectives laid down by the firm, possess local accountability for the achievement of strategic objectives as determined by senior management, ensure that branch culture is aligned with the firm's stated objectives, ensure competence is maintained for all Investment Management professionals under their own, or a delegated others, supervision and ensure an appropriate process is in place to formally assess and review competency on a regular basis, liaise with other office heads as appropriate to identify elements that are affecting “key metrics” as identified by the firm as well as to annually review (and document) the office management resources with the regional director and adjust as required

Leadership expectations:

  • Clearly outline an annual plan of expectations to all branch staff and ensure adherence to that with appropriate periodic reviews
  • Set appropriate levels of delegation within the branch
  • Set clear branch and individual objectives and regularly assess and record progress to these
  • Work with senior management on achieving the implementation of key firm wide projects
  • Ensure a correct focus is maintained on career development and succession planning (delegating where appropriate)
  • Seek opportunities for the recruitment of senior investment management or financial planning professionals for the development of the branch, having due reference to appropriate diversity


Oversight responsibilities:

  • Local responsibility for the implementation and adherence of all regulatory obligations (including but not limited to: KYC, Data Protection, AML, Market Abuse, Fraud Awareness, Advising & Selling, Conduct Risk, Client Assets, Bribery & Corruption, Financial Crime, Gifts Policy)
  • Implementation of strategic objectives as determined by senior management
  • Ensure that appropriate systems and controls are in place at a team and office level to ensure that branch culture is aligned with the firm's stated objectives.
  • Work with support functions to produce suitable reports for branch staff to ensure full clarity and adherence to branch and central objectives.
  • Work with all central support functions for the benefit of the branch (e.g. Marketing, Settlements, Compliance)
