Overview
The HR Operations Consultant is responsible for ensuring smooth, accurate, and compliant execution of all People Operations processes for the India Corporate business. This role focuses on operational excellence, strong governance, and high-quality service delivery across the entire employee lifecycle. You will play a key role in strengthening controls, data integrity, statutory compliance, and process efficiency while ensuring a consistent and reliable experience for employees.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Life Cycle Operations
- Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, background verification, documentation, HRIS updates, payroll inputs, benefit enrolments, employee records management, and offboarding.
- Ensure all employee-related transactions are accurate, timely, and fully compliant with internal policies and statutory requirements.
- Maintain organised, audit-ready employee documentation and digital records.
HR Data Management & Systems
- Maintain data accuracy across HRIS platforms (Oracle) including organisation structure, employee movements, and master data.
- Conduct periodic data audits and reconciliation to ensure data integrity.
- Generate standard HR reports, trackers, and dashboards to support operational visibility.
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Prepare and validate payroll inputs including new hires, exits, changes, attendance, and deductions.
- Coordinate with the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate salary processing.
- Administer employee benefits such as insurance, reimbursements, and statutory benefits (PF, ESIC, gratuity).
HR Policy, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure operational compliance with labour laws, statutory filings, and internal policy requirements.
- Support internal and external HR audits through data preparation, documentation, and process walkthroughs.
- Implement and monitor adherence to HR SOPs, checklists, and control mechanisms.
Query Management & Employee Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee queries related to HR operations, payroll, benefits, documentation, and system access.
- Ensure queries are resolved within defined SLAs and escalated appropriately.
Vendor & Process Management
- Manage HR vendors involved in payroll, benefits, background verification, and other operational services.
- Monitor vendor SLAs, invoicing, contract terms, and service quality.
- Identify and drive process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, speed, and employee experience.
Documentation & Process Control
- Maintain and update HR operational SOPs, workflows, and templates.
- Support implementation of new processes, systems, and operational frameworks.
- Ensure secure handling of employee information and compliance with data protection practices.
Core Skills & Knowledge
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in Human Resources (preferred).
- Strong HR Operations experience in a corporate environment.
- Knowledge of payroll operations, benefits administration, and statutory compliance in India.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and process orientation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and HRIS systems (Workday, Oracle, SAP, etc.).
- Strong organisational, documentation, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and handle high-volume transactions.
- Strong vendor coordination and service delivery mindset.
- Problem-solving skills with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
