Team description :

Internal Audit provides independent assurance over Investec's governance, 
risk management and control environment. The team uses a combination of 
audit expertise, data analytics and technology to improve audit coverage and 
efficiency. As part of its Innovation Strategy, Internal Audit is expanding the 
use of automation, analytics and Artificial Intelligence to enhance the way 
assurance is delivered. 

Description of role and key responsibilities :

• Design and develop analytics, automation and AI solutions that improve 
audit delivery and assurance coverage. 
• Develop, maintain and enhance Internal Audit's portfolio of innovation 
solutions, including AI agents, CoWork skills, shared analytics and 
automation capabilities. 
• Build and maintain data connections, data models, data pipelines and 
analytics capabilities that support audit testing, continuous auditing, 
continuous monitoring and risk assessment. 
• Convert successful proof-of-concept solutions into supported tools that 
can be used across the Internal Audit function. 
• Maintain Internal Audit's innovation platforms, shared tools and reusable 
components to ensure they remain effective and available for audit teams. 
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of innovation standards, 
governance requirements, quality assurance processes and solution 
documentation. 
• Monitor solution performance, adoption and realised benefits to support 
delivery of the Internal Audit Innovation Strategy. 
• Work with Technology, Data and business teams to ensure solutions 
meet security, governance and architecture requirements. 
• Provide coaching, training and support to audit teams to increase the 
adoption and effective use of innovation capabilities. 
• Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve 
audit coverage, efficiency, insight and effectiveness through data, 
analytics, automation and Artificial Intelligence. 

Core skills and knowledge  :

• An understanding of risk management, governance, control frameworks 
and audit methodology. 
• Working knowledge of data analytics, automation and visualisation tools 
and technologies, including SQL, Power BI, Alteryx, Excel, Microsoft 
Copilot, CoWork or comparable platforms. 
• Experience using cloud-based data, automation or Artificial Intelligence 
services, preferably within the Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft 
Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry or similar 
technologies. 
• Exposure to software development and delivery toolsets such as Visual 
Studio Code, Git and Azure DevOps. 
• Experience developing Artificial Intelligence agents, CoWork skills, 
automated workflows, analytics solutions, data pipelines or other 
technology-enabled business solutions. 
• Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into 
workable technical solutions. 
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills. 

Any other attributes that  would be helpful 
• Experience within financial services, assurance, risk or Internal Audit 
environments would be advantageous. 
• Exposure to agentic AI frameworks such as LangGraph, MAF, crewAI, 
AutoGen, etc
