Team Description
The FX Dealing team sits within the Risk Solutions Group, providing spot, forward, NDF, and options-based FX solutions to corporate clients. In addition, the desk equips clients to manage cash flows more effectively via the iX platform, including Investec currency accounts and a comprehensive payments capability. The team helps mitigate FX risk and support third-party payments, working closely with Trading, Sales, Structuring, and Credit, as well as other internal teams.
Role Description & Key Responsibilities
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, client-focused dealing team within Treasury Risk Solutions. The Junior Dealer will support senior dealers, sales colleagues, and the leadership team in delivering excellent client service, helping to drive revenue growth, and ensuring operational integrity across the desk.
This is a development role with exposure to FX markets, client relationship management, and the operational processes underpinning the dealing desk.
Revenue Growth
- Support the FX Dealing Desk with phone coverage, booking FX spot, forward, and NDF tickets, and managing FX options expiries.
- Assist the desk by reaching out to clients with bespoke market updates.
- Help identify One Investec cross-sell opportunities.
- Build and manage your own portfolio of transactional FX clients, sourced from lapsed-client lists.
- Help drive payment-revenue growth and increase iX platform usage across the desk.
Client Experience
- Provide portfolio coverage for FX dealers who are off the desk or on holiday to ensure service levels are maintained.
- Support client-event management, including hosting, managing and tracking RSVPs, logistics etc.
- Run proactive client-gifting campaigns (Easter, Christmas, anniversaries, birthdays, etc.)
- Assist with planning and coordination of regional events (e.g., Scotland, Northern Ireland).
- Work closely with Trade Support, Payments, and Client Services teams to ensure swift settlements and solutions to any post-trade issues.
Desk Management Support
- Provide business-analyst support, including MI analysis and CRM data integrity, working closely with Sales Ops and Analytics teams.
- Assist in preparing presentations for quarterly updates and dealer offsites (themes, analysis, slides, bookings).
Operational Integrity
- Help the desk conduct excess-collateral outreaches.
- Manage market-order confirmations, forward-points adjustments, and order-book integrity.
- Contribute to system and operational improvements across Hera, Chi, Athena, etc.
- Work with the desk head and the TRS Business Manager to support automation initiatives across the business (risk-matrix adherence, CASS rules adherence, ad-hoc projects).
