Team Description

Investec Europe have built an award winning Foreign exchange and risk management franchise in Ireland based on a high touch, high quality service supported by;

A highly experienced team, with the research and infrastructure of the wider Investec Group, supported by an experienced Operations and Risk Team


Description of role and key responsibilities

New Client Engagement

  • Engage with prospective new clients and facilitate well qualified introductions to the FX sales team.
  • Working as part of a team to set agreed deadlines and targets.
  • Fully utilise CRM
  • Gain a detailed understanding of our Treasury offering including our new digital FX platform, IX.
  • Booking appointments for sales specialists, with potential treasury clients.
  • Monitoring appointments through the ‘sales funnel'.
  • Profiling of data from news reports and media and online channels and cross referencing with other sources such as Vision net and filed accounts.
  • Help to create a culture of high performance.

Specific tasks:


Lead Qualification: Ensure leads in the sales CRM system are valid and complete

  • Qualify leads to justify a good understanding of how our offering will suit the customer's requirements.
  • Research additional information on lead, e.g., current dealing arrangement. Business ownership, size markets, they operate in and potential opportunity for Investec to provide treasury services.


Data Cleansing

  • Ensure there are no duplicate leads in CRM system.
  • Ensure all leads are allocated to the correct salesperson.
  • All records in CRM are up to date and correct.


Research new leads and develop opportunities

  • Research and upload new leads into CRM system.
  • Assess financial performance using vision-net and other resources.
  • Assess markets target company operates in.
  • Conduct research into geography and across specific industries.


Sales Support

  • Support the sales team with research and meeting preparation including preparing meeting presentations and packs relevant to the targets expected requirements.


Understand and verbalise the Investec value proposition

  • Understand what Investec does and how we add value for our clients.
  • Express efficiently and ‘Sell' the reason for someone to deal with Investec.


Generate client meetings for the sales team through cold calling

  • As skills progress, call potential clients with a view to setting up meetings for the Investec sales team.
  • Maintain professional office, phone and sales manner at all times.


Meet and strive to beat specific KPI's and targets

  • Meet and exceed KPI targets around certain key objectives, e.g., daily calls, leads qualified, and appointments generated, and opportunities converted.

Core skills and knowledge

  • Sales or client services experience
  • Third Level Qualification
  • Ability to articulate simply without using jargon
  • Evidence of being a team player
  • Driven, tenacious and resilient
  • The ability to think creatively and an empathy to understand a client's business and requirements and how we might best meet those requirements
  • Passion and enthusiasm and be able to bring their own personality to the role.
