Role description
As a Loan Originations Specialist in the PCLO (Private Client Lending Operations) team, your main responsibility is the management of the loan journey from credit approval to pay-away. You will manage a varied portfolio of retail and specialist mortgages, as well as other types of secured and unsecured lending.
Your role is crucial in delivering a high quality of service to our clients while building great relationships with our panel firms and internal stakeholders.
Working under MCOB and other regulations and with an understanding of all associated risks you will be responsible for the following:
- Pipeline Management: Managing a pipeline of cases proactively and efficiently to ensure cases are moving from application to completion in a timely manner. This would include management of required documentation release and legal due diligence.
- Exception Management: Liaising with internal teams to resolve any challenges that arise throughout the origination process and escalating to management where appropriate.
- Third Party Liaison: Working with external firms such as valuers and solicitors to ensure the relevant due diligence has been completed prior to pay-away.
- Regulatory & Risk Compliance: Ensuring all regulatory and internal requirements have been met prior to loan completion.
- Project Participation: Participating in ad hoc projects and small change initiatives where relevant.
- Support Flexibility: Supporting the wider Lending Operations team during busy periods, being flexible within your role and daily tasks.
Core skills and knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of operational processes involved in mortgage, property & secured lending to individuals and SPVs.
- A sound knowledge of credit, regulatory and legal requirements for mortgages and personal lending.
- Ability to balance client experience with business and operational risk.
- Ability to manage multiple deals and tasks in tandem in line with SLAs and whilst keeping key stakeholders informed of progress
