The Fund Solutions team specialises in providing bespoke facilities to Funds and the entities which manage and control the funds. The role is to support the business, our clients and the life cycle of deals.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our growing Fund Solutions team in London. We are continuing to grow the team to help us achieve our ambitious growth plans.

Your role will be key to provide (i) support to the existing Deal Management team within the New Facility Request Team (“NFR Team”) and (ii) consistency and longevity for external and internal stakeholders within the Execution Management function in that team, taking more and more responsibility as you grow in your experience and confidence in the role. The ultimate goal being to potentially be to progress towards management of the NFR Team.

You will have primary responsibility and accountability for managing the execution process for NFRs under our existing book of uncommitted structures. This is a hugely important role within team which will involve liaising with both internal stakeholders (GLO, ISG, legal, credit, senior members of the desk) and external stakeholders (sponsor clients, external law firms and institutional investors). Aspects of the role will include:

  • Engaging and liaising external legal counsel,
  • Reviewing short form legal documentation prepared by external counsel,
  • Reviewing short form legal and secondary trading documentation,
  • Liaising with the Institutional Investor base and GLO

In this role you will also be required to:

Perform the credit analysis for New Funding Requests (NFR) received from new and existing clients;

Prepare documents and applications for internal committees/forums,

Present new deals through team and credit forums,

In this role you will also take ownership of:

  • Helping Graduates and CA Trainees, spending rotations within the team integrate themselves into the team and its working practices.
  • Managing processes and relationships with internal support services such as GLO, KYC, Onboarding, Credit Operations etc.
  • Manage relationships with external services providers (e.g. Acuity)
  • Monitor portfolio assets and covenant performance

All members of the team share responsibility for “Franchise Growth” - you will support the growth of the business through assisting the NFR Team with new deals, identifying new opportunities and working on business strategies, growing income, and driving the marketing program.

What are we looking for in the successful candidate?

  • Highly numerate and looking to develop financial analysis skills (the ability to critically review and analyse financing proposals, financial statements and cash flows).
  • Risk awareness and risk mitigation capability.
  • IT literate, Word, Powerpoint & Excel.
  • Diligent attention to detail.
  • Self-starter & highly motivated.
  • Strong relationship building skills coupled with problem solving skills.
  • Good presentation skills externally and internally, including credit process (needs good listening skills, advocacy skills, tenacity, resilience).
  • You excel at being a team player and collaborating across other Investec divisions.
  • Application of all relevant regulatory compliance considerations
  • Good project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Personable nature to build and manage relationships with stakeholders
