Role: Paraplanner

Location: Liverpool

Team Description                 

We are a team of financial planners, paraplanners and admin support providing financial planning advice to a wide range of clients.

Description of role and key responsibilities

  • Write client reports and detailed suitability letters, including client reviews, within agreed timescales/quality standards.
  • Conduct necessary product research.
  • Liaise with planners, other colleagues and product providers to prepare documentation and illustrations for meetings and reports.
  • Facilitate the smooth processing of new and existing business.
  • Provide close effective technical and administrative support for the advice teams.
  • Build and maintain two–way business relationships with colleagues and help maintain relationships with existing clients.
  • Ensure compliance standards and organisational requirements are met at all times and assist with the monitoring of standards.
  • Liaise with other Investec teams with advice interdependencies.
  • Manage client expectations and help communicate progress as a central part of the business relationship.
  • Maintain a detailed up to date knowledge in all aspects of financial advice by keeping CPD records and undertaking ongoing personal development and learning.
  • Liaise with other paraplanners across our office network.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook

Other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role.

  • Good knowledge of pensions with a strong emphasis on Self invested pensions.
  • Trust and Estate planning knowledge desirable, with a working knowledge of Inheritance Tax.
  • Previous experience within a financial advice or wealth management company, ideally with some experience of working with discretionary fund managers.
  • Previous experience with Xplan would be an advantage.

Qualifications Required

  • CII Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent.
