People Consultant

The People Consultant role provides deep People & Organisation (P&O) consulting and advice using coaching skills. The role partners with leaders advising expertise around the full employee life cycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance, mobility, succession, retention, employee relations and off-boarding. This work is enabled by partnering with the business and P&O Leads to embed the people strategy for their area.

What will you be doing?

  • Consult to the employee life cycle in partnership with P&O Leads and other P&O specialist teams
  • Supporting leaders and P&O Leads regarding people strategies and their implementation
  • Consult on performance related ER issues and informal processes
  • Ensure the employee experience is lived through the culture and the way we do things
  • Partner with business areas to formulate ideas, optimize solutions and enable and support People Strategies
  • Support the belonging inclusion, diversity and representation through the work
  • Consult, support & coach on:
  • Recruitment and the new joiner / on boarding experience from a consulting perspective
  • Driving performance rigour
  • Transformation work (restructures, consultations etc)
  • Succession planning
  • Internal mobility strategies
  • Facilitation and mediation skills as needed
  • Consult to the annual Salary & Bonus process
  • Understanding the family and absence processes and consulting to these along with the specialists

What are we looking for?

  • You will have a solid, proven record of HR consulting in ambiguous, complex, ever changing businesses where you have succeeded through strategic and open thinking and by building trust with stakeholders
  • Experience of working in matrix environments where relationships are your currency
  • Be forward thinking and embracing of change, for example the opportunity of AI integration
  • Provide thought leadership and partnership on topics such as location strategy and headcount planning
  • You will be well qualified in HR ie CIPD, MA in a related area for example
  • You will have in-depth experience of ER, Change and strategic thinking
  • Comfortable with analytics and using data to inform and tell a story. Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills to enable this
  • You will have demonstrable relationship skills
  • It is not essential that you have Banking experience. We would welcome interest from those in FinTech, Professional Services, Consulting firms and Start up environments too.
