The People Consulting Team are part of the wider Careers team within People and Organisation (P&O). We are here to empower leaders to both manage the talent of Investec and look after the 'Investec experience' for our people throughout their entire career journey. Work we get involved in includes resource planning and management, mobility, succession and career progression as well as culture work, whilst having a continuous focus on developing self-sustaining leader-led processes.
What will be the purpose of my role and key responsibilties?
We are a trusted specialist team that originate change through thought leadership across both our Bank and Wealth businesses. We understand the complexities of our businesses and the importance of our culture, whilst remaining commercial and relevant in our work.
As People Consultants we are trusted advisors that operate to empower our leaders and people, supporting them to self-organise and align to the overall strategic objectives of the organisation. We are closely connected to all areas of the P&O community and strive to be agile, adaptable and holistic in our approach to ensure our work is the right work to support the business strategy and the needs of our leaders. Our work is informed by internal and external data and the voice of our people. We continually strive to improve our processes to deliver to our leaders in a way that avoids duplication and leverages across the Group. All of this to ensure we give the very best employee experience.

What core skills and knowledge are we looking for?
• Be an HR professional who can apply generalist knowledge and experience with confidence to promote exceptional performance• Excel at producing and analysing data and using it to inform discussion and process• Be an active learner, naturally inquisitive and bringing thought leadership, market knowledge, and external insight• Be positive, tenacious and not afraid to try new initiatives• Ideally have coaching and/or mediation experience• Experience of managing multi-disciplined projects would be an advantage• We would be particularly interested in experience or passion for innovative ways to address career progression / talent management within different cultures• You will have an understanding of internal mobility, succession and contingency frameworks and how they are applied, along with experience in crafting career pathways• Building and maintaining strong relationships is critical to this role, managing various stakeholder views and finding ways to seek consensus and move towards action • Championing the candidate and employee voice and not being afraid to be heard • You will be comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting involved in the detail as needed.
Any other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role?
Financial services experience is not needed. What we are looking for are fresh ideas and input. Perhaps you might have gained that through working at a Start-up, Fintech or Consultancy Firm.
You will be curious and keep yourself updated on current thinking and research and will have a good network that supports that.
