The focus of the People Services team is to provide exceptional service across all areas of Investec. The team have responsibility for a very broad range of key processes including; on-boarding new joiners into the business, background screening & right to work management, maintaining the HR system and other key systems. The team of 12 operate within 3 work streams covering; Onboarding, Lifecyle and Offboarding providing an exceptional employee experience for all employees across Investec Bank and Investec Wealth and Investment (c3,500 employees) across 15 different offices.
This opportunity is available due to an internal secondment, and offers an initial 6 month opportunity to play an important role in supporting and shaping employee experience in the lifecycle phase of employment whilst supporting the wider People & Organisation function who are enhancing capability within the business. The lifecycle team deal with the day to day enquiries from employees around a number of topics, these could involve completing mortgage/tenancy/visa references, producing documentation for transfers, role and salary changes and other key people processes. Onboarding responsibilities are everything to do with people joining Investec; this includes ensuring that offer paperwork is processed, managing the probation process, managing background screening, updating systems including Oracle HR database and ensuring a smooth onboarding process for the new joiner. Liaising with IT, payroll, recruitment and the manager, you will also liaise with the new joiner to ensure all details for their joining date are confirmed and any questions are covered off in advance of them joining.
Offboarding responsibilities relate to anyone leaving Investec and include managing the leaver process, working with payroll to produce a leaver letter, completing leaver checklist requirements and updating leaver details on Oracle as well as undertaking face to face and / or telephone exit interviews. Reviewing leaver data and providing commentary and analysis around leaver trend data.
Core skills and knowledge
This role requires exceptional organisational skills to meet the needs of our employees. All of the requests need to be delivered within a certain time frame so it requires someone who can juggle multiple things at the same time whilst keeping a calm head. It's also key that you can work collaboratively and effectively with other team members. The team are based across the UK and communicating remotely (via Teams) is critical.
