Private Client Lending Operations (PCLO) plays a critical role in supporting our lending business, managing all post-credit operational activities associated with lending to high-net-worth individuals.

As a Team Lead within PCLO, you will have the opportunity to lead a talented operational team at the heart of our lending journey. From overseeing complex lending processes and supporting team development, to driving operational improvements and managing key stakeholder relationships, you'll play an important role in ensuring our clients receive a seamless experience while maintaining strong risk and control standards. What will I be doing?

• Leading the day-to-day delivery of the team's operational activities, ensuring work is effectively allocated and managed to meet client and business expectations.
• Supporting team performance through coaching, development, training plans, and knowledge sharing to help colleagues grow and succeed.
• Acting as a key escalation point for operational queries, helping bankers and team members find practical solutions that balance client outcomes with business requirements.
• Managing team capacity, including annual leave, absences, workload prioritisation, and facilitating regular team meetings.
• Authorising team activities where required, including reviewing and approving work in line with established controls and governance requirements.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and service quality, driving a culture of continuous improvement across the team.
• Representing Lending Operations in meetings with internal and external stakeholders, including wider lending and pipeline management forums.
• Supporting operational risk management, management information reporting, and third-party supplier oversight to ensure strong controls and service standards are maintained.

Essential skills and experience

• Experience managing workflow and overseeing the quality and approval of operational work.
• Proven experience coaching and developing individuals, improving both personal performance and wider team outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of the operational processes and regulatory obligations associated with mortgage and personal lending.
• Demonstrated ability to balance outstanding client service with sound operational risk management.
• Experience building effective relationships and engaging confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and manage expectations effectively.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and manage time effectively.
• A proactive and analytical approach to problem solving, with a focus on delivering positive outcomes.

Desirable skills and experience

• Experience contributing to operational process improvements and embedding efficiencies within a team environment.
• Exposure to operational risk reporting, risk event management, or risk governance forums.
• Experience maintaining management information (MI), reporting dashboards, or operational metrics.
• Experience managing or overseeing third-party suppliers against agreed service standards and KPIs.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality delivery.
