Role Profile:
Description of role and key responsibilities:
This role is to provide analytical and execution support to the Originators and the wider Offshore Client Real Estate team, assisting in the origination, structuring and ongoing management of a portfolio of real estate loans across the Channel Islands and the UK.
The role will primarily involve the following:
• Building debt cash flow, scenario and sensitivity models, and return / pricing analysis to support disciplined growth and data interrogation,
• Preparing term sheets and credit papers for Originator review, including proposing structuring (pricing, leverage, covenants, security, etc.),
• Detailed analysis of new deals, including scrutinising client quality, scenario and sensitivity testing, review of cash flow models and property due diligence,
• Robust financial analysis of sponsors, guarantors, contractors and other relevant parties involved in the delivery of new development or investment projects,
• Proactively supporting the management of the existing loan book to agreed strategies – covering annual reviews, development drawdowns, loan extensions and increases, renegotiation of facility terms and ad-hoc client requests,
• Liaising with and navigating internal teams and systems (Operations, Valuers, Monitoring Surveyors, Onboarding, Credit and Legal Counsel) and external partners to manage the book and progress new opportunities,
• Attending Client meetings, preparing credit applications and supporting the presentation of transactions to the Real Estate Deal Forum and the Bank's Credit Committee,
• Supporting the post-credit legal, valuation and due diligence process, including review of legal documentation, valuation reports and QS reports,
• Supporting credit stewardship and book hygiene, ensuring conditions and covenants are complied with and that annual reviews and contractual expiries are kept up to date,
• Embedding templates, tools and AI / technology into the lending workflow, and utilising data sources and management information (e.g. Vision / CRM / credit data), to enhance insight, create capacity and reduce deal cycle times,
• Supporting the Offshore Real Estate team in the completion of project work.
Core skills and knowledge:
• Strong financial and quantitative modelling skills, including the ability to build debt cash flow models and produce scenario, sensitivity, pricing and return analyses.
• Practical fluency with technology and AI tools, with an aptitude for adopting automation, templates and tooling across the lending process.
• Ability to turn data and management information into clear, actionable insights.
• An understanding of valuation principles.
• An understanding of the key terms in real estate finance transactions.
• Ability to carry out financial analysis of a business and to identify relevant material business risks.
• High level of numeracy and attention to detail, with strong organisational and time-management skills.
• A proactive attitude to deliver for clients, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and react well to pressure while multitasking.
• Strong relationship and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across internal teams and external partners.
• Knowledge of the property market and of property lending, with development lending experience is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Real Estate procedures including credit and drawdown related matters is beneficial.
• Understand and follow all relevant compliance considerations including the regulatory environment and appropriate processes, procedures, and their implications.
• Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role (compulsory).

Any other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role:
Previous real estate finance or property lending experience, and knowledge of credit and loan documentation.
Familiarity with the Channel Islands / Crown Dependencies market and structures.
Mandatory professional qualifications and exams (required for the role):
ACA, CFA or RICS qualifications (whether held or being studied towards) are beneficial but not necessary.
