Investec Real Estate Finance is a leading lender of commercial and residential investment and development finance.  The business is a specialist lending desk within Investec Specialist Sectors. 

The business has four core teams strategically positioned in the UK and Channel Islands to service experienced and well-capitalised Corporate and Private Clients; offering debt funding up to £150m.

The team have recently launched its first Equity platform, offering HNW clients of the bank the opportunity to invest alongside Investec in UK Real Estate.  

This role will assist the Real Estate Strategic Operations Officer and the wider business with all aspects of data collection, validation and analysis using credit papers, annual reviews, financial data and data sources provided by our valuers, surveyors and real estate agencies.

The role is required to support all reporting requirements as well as data and operational efficiencies.  Furthermore, assisting the Business with the creation and maintenance of data within PowerBi. 

Responsibilities:

Data collection, validation and analysis are the key requirements.  Strong attention to detail is the natural starting point forming the foundation for the teams internal and external reporting requirements. The workload develops from there in line with business needs and the candidate's own drive and abilities.

General responsibilities will include:

1. Demonstrable ability to manipulate and co-ordinate data from multiple sources into a master database
2. Has PowerBi super user capabilities to allow the creation and maintenance of customised PowerBi dashboards depending on business requirements and data needs
3. Has the ability to articulate and translate business data requirements to downstream stakeholders across multiple functions included data and technology teams
4. Has the capability to analyse the Real Estate portfolio for credit and profitability trends with a view to providing meaningful insights to management team
5. Can support the Strategic Operations Officer with quarterly, half yearly and annual reporting requirements for Exec and Credit teams
6. Is able to identify and define new process improvement opportunities.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address data-related needs
8. Developing UK Real Estate market knowledge
9. Developing knowledge and understanding of the Real Estate book through interaction with Financial Control

Key competencies required include:

• Has a solid understanding of how a bank operates and the eco-system within
• Excellent command of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and other relevant tools and databases
• Fluent in English and excellent oral and written communications skills
• Willingness to obtain foundation knowledge of Real Estate market
• Sound understanding of Financial Reporting
• Sound understanding of Credit and Risk (preferred)
• Ability to think critically, engage in analysis and make decisions
• Ability to research, implement and deliver projects in a time-efficient manner
• Willingness to learn; able to pick up new skills and technologies quickly
• Ability to develop strong market Knowledge: sound awareness of the market/economic landscape and knowledge of how the business functions
• Regulatory knowledge as applicable for the role
• To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly (compulsory)
• Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role (compulsory)
• Personable nature to build and manage relationships with stakeholders

Educational Background:

• BA Degree (or Higher)
• ACA or CFA or equivalent
