Real Estate Funding and Distribution Analyst (6370)

Team Description

The individual will work within the wider Real Estate team which provides senior debt financing solutions for development and investment transactions across multiple real estate sectors in the United Kingdom.


Description of role and key responsibilities

The role compromises three core functions:

  1. Syndication: Working on the syndication of new real estate loans to external investors and the ongoing management of loans and investors.
  2. Fundraising: Assisting with longer term fundraising initiatives for the real estate business, focused on the sourcing of external capital.
  3. Lending: Working within the real estate corporate lending origination team as an analyst on transactions that will be syndicated externally.


Key responsibilities:

Syndication Focused:

  • To proactively manage and develop our existing third party capital base in support of real estate lending activities as may be required.
  • To help maintain accurate summaries of investor appetite on internal databases.
  • Syndication execution: Execution and distribution of transactions, including:
    • Assist the team in preparation of IMs, Term Sheets, Teasers and other external marketing documents.
    • Assume responsibility for on-boarding and trade execution
    • Assist with investor Q&A or coordination with rest of the real estate team as necessary.
    • Manage data room for syndicated transactions.
    • Help with ongoing deal management (e.g. assisting with majority lender / all lender consent requests).
  • Help recommend structure and pricing of transactions and prepare written credit applications for presentation to the bank's credit committee.
  • To ensure that all relevant client details / activity / feedback etc. is input into the CRM system. This should be done in a timely manner and be comprehensive information.

Fundraising Focused:

  • Assemble pitch books, portfolio summaries and other fundraising materials.
  • To research potential future funding partners.

Lending Focused:

  • Work with origination consultants, attend client meetings, analyse potential transactions, appraise and build cash flow models.
  • Post credit approval, liaise with client onboarding team / GLO / Client & liaise with related professional appointments, e.g solicitors, valuers and quantity surveyors, to manage deal and any associated ‘Conditions Precedent' through to draw down.


  • To keep in regular contact with investors and the real estate team business leads, and to be aware of any changes in investment sentiment.
  • To research potential future funding partners and borrowers.

To keep updated on market events and current affairs, especially in relation to Real Estate.


Core Skills and Knowledge

  • To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly (compulsory).
  • To develop a strong understanding of how any product that is marketed works and to understand the product risk profile.
  • Flexibility: the role will develop and change according to market conditions and strategic requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong Excel (including cashflow modelling), PowerPoint and computing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Highly organised.
  • Ability to manage time well and run multiple work streams simultaneously for a variety of stakeholders, whilst working to tight deadlines.
  • High levels of motivation and self-origination.
  • Able to work effectively both within a team and individually.

Other attributes

  • Knowledge of and experience within the real estate and/or real estate finance markets.
  • An understanding of syndication, debt capital markets and/or fundraising.
  • Previous banking experience; knowledge of Credit processes, the law as it relates to lending, ability to identify material business risks.
  • Working knowledge of LMA financing documentation.
  • Experience with Debt Domain and Dynamics 365 would be useful
